Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has opened its second hotel in China with a resort in Sanya on Hainan Island. The 246-room hotel sits on 40 acres overlooking Haitang Bay and the South China Sea. Including 45 suites with their own private-balcony plunge pools, the hotel has rooms that range in size from about 750 square feet to about 7,500 square feet.
In keeping with the brand’s A Sense of Place philosophy, the resort’s design incorporates wood, tribal totems and aquatic elements to create a serene and contemporary space, celebrating the beauty of nature and the serenity of the ocean, for all Rosewood guests to discover.
Rosewood Sanya is part of an integrated resort set within 40 acres (16 hectares) of landscaped gardens surrounding the Sanya Forum, the largest convention center in Haitang Bay. The hotel’s 3,425 square meters of meeting space include a 1,500 square-meter pillar less grand ballroom and six function spaces. It also offers The Pavilion, a sophisticated residential-style venue with a spacious outdoor terrace offering full sea views.
The resort, which is located adjacent to the Sanya Forum convention center, also includes five restaurants and lounges, a 13th-floor pool bar and about 37,000 square feet of meetings space.
The property is Rosewood’s second in China, following the 2014 opening of Rosewood Beijing. Rosewood is slated to open hotels in both Guangzhou and Hong Kong next year.
