H10 Hotels opens H10 Palazzo Canova On The Grand Canal In Venice

H10 Hotels has opened the H10 Palazzo Canova in Venice, a 4-star superior establishment with an exceptional location in the heart of the city, on the Grand Canal and a few metres from the Rialto Bridge.

With a total of 61 rooms, the hotel is housed in a completely restored 19th century building which preserves its original facade. This opening signifies the arrival of H10 Hotels in the city of canals and is the chain’s second hotel in Italy, having already opened the H10 Roma Città in the Italian capital at the end of 2008.

As is typical of the chain, the location of the H10 Palazzo Canova is one of its main attractions, on Venice’s Grand Canal itself. The hotel is also located a few metres from the Rialto Bridge offering privileged views of this attraction from its panoramic terrace. The establishment therefore has an unbeatable location, close to the city’s main points of interest such as St Mark’s Square— which contains Saint Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace—, the Bridge of Sighs and the iconic La Fenice opera house.

This exclusive hotel occupies a 19th-century building that was subsequently, from 1950, the headquarters of the city’s Land Registry. The project, designed by architecture firm International Opera, aimed to restore the beauty of the building, preserving its original facade and thoroughly renovating its interior to adapt it to the needs of a hotel. Similarly, the establishment pays tribute to Venice with an interior design that features a modern take on city’s past. This has been achieved through the use of traditional elements and materials such as Murano glass, along with Venetian fabrics and tapestries.

The common areas such as the lobby and the bar on the top floor feature terrazzo flooring, very typical of Venetian buildings due to it characteristic resistance to water. The hotel, which offers free Wi-Fi in all areas, has a spacious lobby which is accessed through a large glass door that overlooks the Grand Canal. This houses the Front Desk, a Business Corner and lounge areas for guests. It is a unique space presided over by three magnificent chandeliers made with Murano glass.

The rooms at H10 Palazzo Canova have been designed to create elegant environments that provide maximum comfort. Inside, neutral tones are combined with gold and blue, used on the walls behind the headboards of the beds to reflect the colour of the lagoon. These walls feature wallpaper which evokes damask fabric but applying a modern touch. Another feature of the rooms is in the bathrooms, whose walls contain black and white photographs showing different corners of the city.

All rooms come with a 49” flat-screen TV with international channels, Nespresso machine, USB ports and international sockets, bathrobe and slippers, Minibar and in-room safe, climate control system, professional hair dryer and Rituals amenities.

Of the different rooms in the H10 Palazzo Canova those with views of the Grand Canal stand out, such as the Grand Canal Superior Rooms and the spacious and bright Grand Canal Deluxe Rooms, as well as the Grand Canal Junior Suites, which have a bedroom and a living area with sofa-bed in the same space. The hotel also has 3 Grand Canal Suites, which include a separate bedroom and living area. One of these also offers a small private terrace. The latter are ideal rooms for families or three persons
