A lavish city centre hideaway

Aleph is found on Via Veneto, nestled into an idyllic hillside. Here, guests can escape the tourist throng, yet are perfectly placed just a short walk from the historic centre’s major attractions. Step inside and you are met with a truly palatial lobby, flamboyant displays of fresh flowers, an effusive multi-lingual concierge and an intoxicating unique aroma. It’s a delight for the senses, with a serene feel that contrasts the busy metropolis beyond. The regal interiors were modelled on the Italian Renaissance style – Cipollino marble floors, onyx panels and onyx water feature create a stunning first impression.

Nine-decades of heritage

The building dates back to 1930, having served as the Central Institute of Savings Bank until 1990 – guests can pass through the original bank vault door, although nowadays it leads to the fitness centre, rather than a money room. It was refurbished by ARTIC group as unique makeover brining the building to its original splendor. Now with 88 bedrooms, it’s a member of Historic Hotels Worldwide. Aleph is also part of Hilton’s exclusive Curio Collection; historic hotels carefully selected on the basis of their distinctive character, impossible to replicate, able to satisfy the most curious guests. These independent hotels have the DNA of the cities in which they are located: they are real inhabitants of the place and perfectly express their spirit. Each Curio property is one of a kind, each completely different from the others.

Effortless style and supreme comfort

Elect to stay in one of three categories of room: Comfort, Deluxe & Prestige, or a Suite. Some of the Deluxe rooms are accessible and the King Prestige has its own terrace. Bedrooms come with plenty of mod cons; they’re soundproofed, with backlit ceilings, pillow menus, Nespresso machines, complimentary minibars, 55-inch HDTVs, room service and conveniently placed USB ports. Upgrade to one of the top class suites for a separate living area, comfy sofa, dining table, microwave, bar (complete with wine chiller in the cabinet), large bathtub, Acqua di Parma toiletries and a surprise gift.

An Arabian inspired spa

A gilded Hammam is arguably the centrepiece of the hotel’s thermal suite. The deluxe spa also comprises a Finnish sauna, thermal Jacuzzi pool, emotional showers and treatment rooms. Marble mosaics and soft colour-changing mood lighting throughout the suite, help transport guests into a state of total relaxation and escapism. Treatments utilise Elemis products and include hi-tech facials, amber and quartz massage, Maori massage, wraps and Arabian style rituals (some of which take place in the stunning Hammam), as well as pedis/manis. And if you fancy getting in some laps, don a swimsuit and climb to the top floor…

A rooftop with razzmatazz

We adore everything about this hotel, but the Sky Blu Rooftop terrace, now a member of the ‘Le Club Pommery’ is a standout feature. Luxe outdoor beds around the glittering aquamarine pool, a cocktail bar, waterfall features, mood music and an unexpected shisha corner, all create an exotic, holiday ambience. It’s up here that you’ll also find the hotel’s main eatery – the Sky Blu restaurant. National cuisine – such as antipasti, traditional Roman pasta and dolci – is presented in this trattoria with a view. And there’s an alfresco patio for summer dining under the stars.

Unique and sophisticated bars

Those wanting something to eat in a more casual environment can order breakfast, lunch, gelato and beverages in the 1930’s Coffee Break cafe. For elegant all-day aperitifs with live piano accompaniment, there’s the refined and stylish Onyx bar. And for late-night cigar sessions, sink into a leather Chesterfield armchair in the gentleman’s club themed Cognac Lounge – it’s one of the few city venues in which you can still light up.

Multi-award winning

The hotel is in receipt of multiple recent accolades including the 2020 Luxury Design Hotel, Southern Europe at the World Luxury Hotel Awards, 2020 Luxury Hammam Experience, Southern Europe at the World Luxury Spa Awards and 2020 Luxury Hotel Restaurant, Southern Europe at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards. Aleph was also recognised at the Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2020. And it’s easy to see why.

Welcoming all ages

Local transportation can be arranged during your stay, plus the hotel has its own valet service, laundry, newsstand and meeting rooms for those combining business with pleasure. With family an important part of Italian life, it’s fitting that this establishment should be welcoming of younger visitors too. Indeed, children receive their own gift on arrival, adjoining rooms are available, kids’ menus are provided, there’s a babysitting service and cots can be placed in rooms on request.

The service, setting and spa also make this a romantic choice for an anniversary or honeymoon. While the glamorous pool terrace attracts a fashionable youthful set. The Aleph Rome has a wide appeal, with an exclusive feel.
