Offering guests a unique combination of modern luxury and 14th century regal opulence, The Hotel Danieli is in and of itself one of Venice’s attractions. Set in three palaces: the Palazza Dandolo, Palazzo Casa Nuova and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, it’s a rich testament to the city’s history and the hotel’s collection of art and antiques are displayed around the property. The location is perhaps the hotel’s greatest asset, meaning that guests are never more than a short walk away from the Bridge of Sighs, or the Piazza San Marco. Following a day of sightseeing, guests can relax at the rooftop restaurant, which boasts magnificent views over the lagoon.
As well as being moments from the Bridge of Sighs and Piazza San Marco, guests have direct access to water taxis just outside the hotel, giving them the chance to explore either the city itself or the Venetian lagoon and its many islands. Located on the Riva degli Schiavoni, the hotel benefits from a wonderful energy, with the hustle and bustle of Venice right on its doorstep.

The hotel is a showcase of traditional Italian opulence at its best, with high vaulted ceilings, cool marble floors and richly coloured drapes and carpets. The central lobby, with it’s high arches and grand staircase set the tone for the whole hotel, whilst in the comfort of their own room, guests enjoy antique furniture, stunning views and sleek marble bathrooms.
Rooms and Suites
There are 204 rooms and suites, many of which have views over the lagoon. The impressive suites are divided into seven categories, which promise guests separate living areas and palatial marble bathrooms, along with the expected amenities such as large flat screen TVs.
Food and Drink Facilities
The Hotel Danieli has two restaurants, the Restaurant Terrazza Danieli, located on the rooftop, is open for breakfast (available at an additional fee), lunch and dinner and the Danieli Bistro, open for dinner. The rooftop restaurant offers guests both indoor and outdoor seating, and a seasonal menu that brings together the best elements of European cuisine, both East and West. The Danieli Bistro on the other hand, is more informal, offering an exclusively Italian menu, particularly the tradition of cicchetti, a tapas-style tradition in which diners indulge in a variety of small appetizers. Visitors may also make use of 24-hour room service. In addition, there are two cocktail bars, one indoor and one on the terrace, offering snacks, some light meals and afternoon tea.
There is a well-equipped gym with free weights and cardiovascular machines, and the hotel’s location at the centre of Venice means there is a plethora of activity on your doorstep.
Less than a kilometre away is the Piazza San Marco, with its basilica and clocktower, as well as the Grand Canal and Bridge of Sighs. There is a variety of museums within a short walk, too, such as the Accademia Gallery, Jewish Museum of Venice and Glass Museum of Murano.
