The Hotel Savoy is set in the very centre of Florence, giving visitors the freedom to explore the city and soak up the atmosphere. Its contemporary rooms designed by Olga Polizzi have all the expected amenities, and are spacious and light, giving guests the opportunity to relax and take in the sweeping views of Florence. The Hotel Savoy also has an impressive fitness suite, and caters experiences to couples and families alike.
Guests step out of the hotel onto the Piazza della Repubblica, a true hive of activity. With the stunning Ponte Vecchio only a short walk away and Brunelleschi’s architectural marvel, the Duomo just around the corner, the Hotel Savoy could not be better positioned for would-be sightseers, with many of Florence’s other main attractions only a short walk or drive away.
The Hotel Savoy is perfect for couples on a city break, but is also geared up to take care of families too.
Designed by Olga Polizzi, Rocco Forte’s director of design, the hotel perfectly combines sleek luxury with a sense of comfort and familiarity. With cool, soothing colour schemes in all the rooms, pops of colour are added by funky fabrics and soft furnishings. The odd Romanesque bust scattered around pays tribute to Florence’s history as a key player in the Renaissance without being over the top.
Rooms and Suites
With 80 rooms and suites, split into twelve categories (excluding the Presidential suite), guests are spoilt for choice. All the rooms are spacious and can be interconnected, with the added luxury of tea and coffee making facilities, smart televisions and gorgeous bathrooms with Forte Organics toiletries, as would be expected.
It is the suites, however, which steal the show, offering breath-taking views of Florence, a designated and spacious living area and sleek marble bathrooms. Guests staying in any of the hotels suites also benefit from two tickets to a private tour of one of Florence’s most popular attractions.
Food and Drink Facilities
Irene, the hotel’s restaurant and bar, serves breakfast (at an additional fee), lunch and dinner under the direction of Fulvio Pierangelini and head chef Giovanni Cosmai. A focus on traditional Tuscan cusine, made only with fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, dining at the hotel truly gives guests a taste of Florence. With both outdoor and indoor seating, diners are spoilt for choice while overlooking the bustling city, and can enjoy a cocktail from the extensive bar menu, too.
Within the hotel itself is a gym, equipped with Techno-Gym cardiovascular machines and free-weights. There are a host of experiences for children, able to be arranged by the hotel’s impressive concierge in collaboration with VIK (Very Important Kids), including an art hunt around the Uffizi gallery and baking masterclasses in the afternoons.
The Duomo is just around the corner, with the Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi, Accademia and National Museums all within a short walking distance.
Airport: Florence’s Airport, Peretola (FLR) is a 25 minute drive from the hotel.
Rail: Florence’s Santa Maria Novella Railway Station is a 5 minute drive.
