The approach to Maidensworth Farm is impressive with a long tree-lined driveway, and an elegant courtyard garden offer the first hint of the wonderful home that awaits its guests.

The restoration has been a labour of love spanning 30 years for owners, Caroline and David, who have developed the Georgian property to the highest standard with the utmost attention to detail.

Location

Set on 45 acres in Yorkshire’s Howardian Hills the area is one of outstanding natural beauty. Escape the hustle and bustle of city life and take some time to remind yourself what peace and quiet really feels like.

Style

The interiors are spacious, welcoming and exquisitely furnished. Vaulted ceilings, huge beams and vast fireplaces are a striking feature of the house. Original artwork features throughout and artefacts and unique items add interesting talking points.

The attention to detail and unique finishing touches add great charm and character throughout the entire property.

Rooms and Suites

The property comprises of six bedrooms all of which are all located on the ground floor and are beautifully appointed. Each bedroom has its own spacious and luxurious en-suite bathroom, some with a roll-top bath, and each one is presented in an individual style. For example, the Africa Suite features animal prints, rugs and artefacts that give a nod to the African theme. Whilst the Sweden Suite is accessed via a private staircase to the first floor and is furnished in the style of a ski chalet, with antique skis and a toboggan adorning the walls.

Each bedroom offers wonderful views across the country estate and are so charming that it will be hard to steal yourself away from these uniquely styled retreat bedrooms.

Food and Drink

Cook It Yourself. The spacious kitchen boasts a large dining table perfect for informal suppers and hearty breakfasts. There is an Aga, electric oven and gas hob, fridge, dishwasher and everything you need for cooking up a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is also a separate preparation kitchen with large American fridge freezer and lots of storage space.

Local Produce. There are many nearby local farmer’s markets, country stores and delis all of which sell wonderful seasonal produce. Supermarkets can provide a home delivery service too.

Arrival Supper. Get your stay off to the best and most relaxing start and arrange supper to be prepared for your first evening.
Stock the Larder. Owner, Caroline, is more than happy to take pre-arrival requests so that she can fill your fridge with home-made meals, cakes and store cupboard essentials.

Private Chef. From a relaxed kitchen supper to a celebration dinner served in the Grand Hall, Caroline can create menus to suit your occasion and tastes.

Other Activities

The Granary is a wonderful versatile space that cannot fail to impress. Set on the first floor, the room is over 80 ft. long and as testament to its vastness, it comfortably houses a full-size snooker table with all the essential cue-room needed. This room is also perfect for evening dinners with a huge, hull-shaped dining table and curved pew benches seating up to 20 guests.

The comfortable sofas are perfect for relaxed gatherings and the cavernous log fire creates a warm and cosy ambience.

Step out onto the balcony and take in the extensive views across the gardens, forest and fields or enjoy an evening of star gazing in the clear country night.

Yoga: A private and bespoke yoga session can be arranged with a highly-qualified yoga teacher.

Cycling: A popular pursuit in the area so there are many routes from the door. An expert cycling guide and cycle hire can be arranged and cycle storage is available should you wish to bring your own.

Tennis: If you enjoy a game of tennis there’s a full-size court at your disposal.

Surfing: If you would like to try surfing, there is a surf school at Saltburn-by-the-Sea where you can book a lesson and hire everything you need to ride the waves!

Country Pursuits: Fishing and game shooting accompanied by an expert guide can be arranged should you wish.

Historic City: The historic city of York is just a 20-minute drive away should you wish to sample of taste of city life.

Land Rover Hire: To explore beautiful Yorkshire even further the hire of a Land Rover Defender can be organised for all or part of your stay.
