Middleton Lodge Estate is a lovingly-restored, independently-owned, Georgian country retreat set within 200 acres of rural parkland in North Yorkshire.
A handful of rooms and suites are scattered throughout the estate, each reflects the distinct character of their primary purpose and combines carefully appointed original features with elegant, contemporary design.
Their restaurant, led by Executive Chef Gareth Rayner, delivers creative, world-class dining inspired by local, seasonal produce and the surrounding kitchen gardens, designed by Tom Stuart Smith. Guests can expect variations of well known dishes that celebrate authentic ingredients.
Guests can expect a series of cosy corners, ambient roaring fires, endless countryside landscapes – and a roll top bath in almost every room.
The destination provides a refuge from the chaotic city life with infinite outdoor pursuits, charming traditional market towns, and countless heritage sights – and around two hours from Edinburgh by train and just over two hours from London.
Couples will particularly enjoy the new Dairy Cottage, comprising a mezzanine bedroom with expansive living area, wood burning stove and huge copper bathtub – there’s also a tin hot tub on the terrace.
For families there are a selection of generous, specially designed family rooms that offer full sized bunk beds built into the interior.
For large families or groups, the Farmhouse is well placed to cater for up to 12 guests in a private property on the estate.
Guests can either cater for themselves or have meals delivered, or request their fridge is fully stocked ahead of their arrival.
The property has been lovingly restored by owner, Rebecca Tappin, and boasts renewed original features alongside contemporary farmhouse chic. Guests can expect natural, calming interiors, rich textures and bold lighting.
