Next Door is a luxurious barn conversion which presents two bedrooms, two bathrooms and has plenty of space for a gathering with friends or family. The barn has been thoughtfully and creatively styled and owners Adam and Karen have such a passion for providing the very best experience for guests making Next Door a country retreat you will want to come back to, time after time.

Location

Located in the heart of the pretty village of Sand Hutton, this property is an ideal base for exploring the Historic city of York which is just 8-miles way. And for those who enjoy the great outdoors the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are just a 10-minute drive away, the North York Moors National Park 30 minutes by car and the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Yorkshire coast are both within an hour’s drive away. So much choice!

Ideal For

Everyone (and their dog!) are welcome here. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms the property is ideal for a small family gathering or two couples.

Style

The space is well laid out and the attention to detail creates a relaxed and fun vibe throughout the property. The log burner and soft furnishings give a warm ambience and the interesting pictures and prints that adorn the walls, along with stylish use of colour palettes throughout make this property one you’d like to have as your own home.

Rooms and Suites

There are two bedrooms, The Library Suite and The Terrace Suite. The Terrace suite has an ensuite with a large walk in shower and direct access to the outdoor terrace. The Library Suite is the larger of the two boasting a chill-out area with sofa and small library and the house bathroom has a double ended bath for the ultimate in downtime. For guests with children there is also the option of an additional child’s tent bed – a real indoor adventure for the little ones.

Food and Drink Facilities

A beautifully designed and well-laid out kitchen with open plan dining area makes self-catering here an entirely sociable and enjoyable affair. In the warmer months, the Crittall style doors extend the space even further onto the outdoor terrace so guests can make the most of alfresco dining.

Owners, Adam and Karen keep chickens which guests are welcomed to meet and enjoy fresh eggs for brekkie.

There is also an honesty shop which offers guests a choice of tempting croissants, fresh produce and Chef prepared chilled meals. Tasty ice-cream from a local farm can be found in the freezer – who could resist!

Onsite Recreational Facilities

Guests can enjoy use of their own private courtyard ideal for alfresco dining and a fire pit for a cosy evening of toasting marshmallows. The property boasts access to over an acre of garden and woodland – ideal for exploring and outdoor adventures. For little and big kids, alike there are some fun set-ups such as for den making, a mud kitchen and a campfire in the woods. Bush-craft and Forest School activities with a specialist instructor can also be booked.
Complimentary use of bicycles is also available if you fancy exploring the area on two-wheels.

Nearby Attractions

The Historic City of York is just a short journey away by car and there are some well-reputed restaurants and cafes nearby. Fun attractions, such as an adventure farm, asparagus picking and a fairy trail are all great options for entertaining the children.
