Boasting 24 bedrooms and suites, each is unique in design and layout, combining comfort and sophistication for the ultimate relaxing stay.

New to The Montagu Arms are two additional spaces – the Hayloft Suites, located in a secluded spot of the hotel’s picturesque grounds. Sensitively converted from an 1820s barn, the interior design of the duplex Hayloft Suites is inspired by the surrounding British countryside, with restored wooden beams and handmade furniture complementing the neutral colour palette.

Food and Drink

Good food is of course a focus at The Montagu Arms, and the award-winning three AA Rosette Terrace Restaurant, led by Head Chef Matthew Whitfield, offers an unparalleled fine-dining experience in the heart of the New Forest. Previously Sous Chef at renowned Eleven Madison Park (voted ‘Best Restaurant in the World’ in 2017), Matthew’s style of cooking is modern and refined, using the best local, seasonal ingredients alongside the hotel’s own produce from its bountiful kitchen garden, to create elegant dishes that engage all the senses. With daily changing menus, guests can expect the likes of slow cooked squid with cauliflower and confit mushroom; roasted Hampshire beef fillet with confit cheek, beer braised onions and pickled walnut; and roasted garlic and cheese gnocchi with rainbow chard, roasted onions and wild mushrooms.

Perfect for a special occasion, or just for those looking for a treat, afternoon tea is an elegant affair at The Montagu Arms. The beautiful English country garden is the perfect backdrop to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea for two, whilst those with a savoury tooth will love the choice to swap pastries and cakes with the likes of warm vol-au-vent, Scotch eggs and pork pies with tangy pickle.
