The Edinburgh Grand: Ready to open its doors on 1st of June.

Re-writing the rules on luxury travel in Scotland’s capital, the latest property in the Lateral City portfolio, The Edinburgh Grand, is now open for bookings from the 1st June. The hotly anticipated opening of the luxury property located on St Andrew Square, has finally been announced for summer 2018! Bookings have opened on the 50 individually designed apartments and it looks to be the most exciting luxury hospitality opening in the capital this year. Located at the centre of the city in an unrivalled location, within easy reach of all the major transport links, the property promises to be a popular destination for visitors and locals alike.

The Edinburgh Grand is part of Chris Stewart Group’s ambitious Registers development, a project that is re-developing and regenerating a previously overlooked corner of St Andrew Square. This has included the respectful two-year renovation of the former headquarters of The National Bank of Scotland, latterly the Royal Bank of Scotland. The project promises to offer a luxurious new residence unique to Scotland’s capital that combines contemporary interior design with the historical features of the building, whilst offering tribute to the building’s provenance as a famous Edinburgh banking landmark.

The apartments will come in a range of unique sizes and shapes, from the intimate studios, to the stunning three-bedroom penthouse offering a 360-degree panorama of the city. No matter what size apartment, as with all Lateral City properties, style and quality looks to be at the forefront of everything in The Edinburgh Grand. Many authentic features have been incorporated into the refurbishment of the building including original dark wood panelling, fireplaces, brass door handles, and decorative cornicing. Whilst the building has been updated and refreshed, Karen Brown, head of interior design at Chris Stewart Group, has been mindful of protecting and honouring the unique historical merit of the building and seamlessly incorporating these features into the new design.

All the apartments will have beautifully fitted en-suite bathrooms complete with drench showers, Victorian roll-top baths and luxe beauty products courtesy of New York brand Malin + Goetz. Living areas promise home entertainment which includes a Smart TV, Bluetooth Bose sound systems and complementary WiFi, plus a fully-equipped, all mod-cons kitchen including in-apartment dishwashers and wash-dryers by Siemens, and Nespresso coffee machines. Apartments will also be dog-friendly and many offer flexible living options for families and groups.

The Edinburgh Grand will not only house 50 luxury self-catered apartments, but also aims to be a social hub right at the heart of the city. The building will also house a 170-cover bar and restaurant located in the former banking hall, a sleek new bar, a coffeehouse and a vibrant hangout space to meet and eat.

General Manager of Lateral City Apartments, Gavin MacLennan said: “We are re-writing the blueprint on luxury accommodation with The Edinburgh Grand. It is a property which has been expertly tailored to the needs of the modern traveller – from the cutting-edge in-room technology through to the bespoke interior decoration that references the building’s illustrious heritage. Every detail has been considered. Whether guests are visiting for pleasure or for business, we have ensured that all expectations will be surpassed. It is set to become the new landmark in tourism for the capital.”

As with every Chris Stewart and Lateral City project, no detail has been overlooked. In a town bursting with stunning places to stay, The Edinburgh Grand is looking to stand above the rest. Watch this space!
