JW Marriott Grosvenor House London Launches an Exquisite Bourbon Tasting Journey

From the Prohibition era to Park Lane, JW Steakhouse introduces the finest bourbon flights and a dinner pairing experience like no other.

With over 90 years of history, Grosvenor House is renowned to be a hotel of ‘firsts’ and continues to innovate with a new luxury bourbon tasting journey hosted at the JW Steakhouse at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London. Boasting a collection of over 300 rare, pre-Prohibition, single barrel, smooth bourbons – it must be the finest place in the city to enjoy such an experience which is set to redefine culinary experiences and add a touch of glamour to the local Mayfair dining scene.

JW Marriott is included in our guide to the best luxury hotels in London

Guests are invited to embark on a sensory tasting experience with some of the rarest and most luxurious bourbons in the world, complemented by an authentically American menu designed by Head Chef, Robert Stephens.

Beginning with the ‘Tasting History’ flight, diners have the chance to taste a piece of history with an extremely rare 100-year-old bottled, pre-Prohibition bourbon which was distilled in 1916 and laid in a barrel until 1933, during which WW1 and the Prohibition had both been and gone- the only bottle of its kind in London.

For the more contemporary palate, guests can enjoy a firm favourite, the ‘WhistlePig Tasting’ flight, a whiskey voted as ‘world’s best whiskey’ and one that continues to push the boundaries of making and distilling.

The ‘Let’s Experiment’ flight is perfect for those who prefer the element of surprise, with a flight, consisting of eccentric recipes and barrel treatments that defines the bourbon’s taste and characteristics. This flight is a sensation to the senses and ensures each tasting is distinctly unique from the last.

Known as the father of bourbon, Pappy Van Winkle, is one of the world’s most highly sought-after whiskeys which can now be sampled on Park Lane. Legend has it, many bottles go into collections, never to be opened or seen again, until now. JW Steakhouse is offering guests the opportunity to sip and savour Pappy’s legacy with an exclusive flight of four tastings, including 13, 15, 20 and 23-year-old Pappy Van Winkle bourbon.

All flights are paired with a mouth-watering à la carte or group dining menu option, featuring signatures such as fresh scallops, seafood platter and Angus rib eye steak served with irresistible mac n cheese or wild mushrooms, finishing the experience with the famous JW cheesecake.

For all bourbon enthusiasts, JW Steakhouse will also be extending four exclusive and private bourbon tastings with world renowned expert and founder of BourbonBlog.com, Tom Fischer on 1st, 3rd, 4th and 7th December 2021. Diners will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to debate distilling methods, unearth secret stories and taste history with one of the most influential names in the whiskey and spirits industry.
