The combination of January blues alongside the latest lockdown regulations is not the best recipe for a jovial start to the year. Fear not, we do have news that is guaranteed to bring a smile to our food loving readers as Aquavit London launches its home delivery DIY kits.
Choose from a meat, fish or vegetarian and enjoy a Nordic feast in the comfort of your own home. These delicious seasonal sharing menus have been created by Head Chef, Jorjon Colazo, and they will not disappoint home diners. Each box has been designed for two to share and are so easy to prepare – simply heat, plate, present the food and you’re good to go.
The Meat box includes a range of delicious dishes such as black pudding with lardo and pulled venison bao buns to start, Aquavit’s signature Swedish meatballs with lingonberries and pickled cucumber; and beef Rydberg with caramelised onion, onion purée, confit egg yolk, horseradish cream for mains.
Fish lovers can enjoy gravlax with mustard and dill sauce, and langoustine bao buns with coleslaw, pickles and seaweed mayonnaise; followed by Houghton Springs Trout with Sandefjord sauce, and Icelandic cod papillote, with smoked mussels, Atlantic prawns, hayselden potato and samphire.
And quite fitting for Veganuary, those following a plant-based diet, can opt for the vegetarian box which features Nordic classics of pickled and fermented vegetables, and roasted heritage beetroot salad with smoked vegan cheese, with main dishes of kroppkakor (traditional Swedish boiled potato dumplings), with mushrooms, lingonberries and brown butter; and braised chicory with chestnut purée and warm quinoa salad.
A selection of fine wines, beers and creative soft drinks are also available to order.
