We’re just back from Madrid, and a memorable stay at the new BLESS Hotel Madrid, member of Leading Hotels of the World; and we couldn’t wait to share all the news with you!
Our full profile review of this new property will be published shortly in our Hotels section on TLE; but in the meantime, here’s the inside track on this very special new collection of hotels.
Madrid’s latest upscale hotel opening
BLESS Hotel Madrid opened last week in the super stylish Salamanca district of Madrid; think elegant 19th & mid-20th century avenues lined by ultra-luxury stores, interesting independent boutiques, and chic restaurants.
The hotel has taken a classic period building and transformed it into a modern day oasis of ‘hedonistic luxury’ with bold yet chic interiors by Spanish super-star designer Lázaro Rosa-Violan; fine-dining and lounge bar gourmet cuisine overseen by the exceptional talent of 10 Michelin-star Basque chef, Martin Berasategui; and artful hospitality from the international Palladium Hotel Group.
BLESS Madrid is a pleasure for all the senses. From the visual impact of the lobby bar and restaurant, to the seductive scents of the public spaces, to the luxury of the rooms, each with a fabulous bath tub and huge bed; this place is all about making each moment special.
BLESS Collection Hotels
BLESS Collection Hotels will encompass new urban and resort holiday hotels, promising upscale accommodation, dining and pampering, with with plenty of creatively executed, feel-good luxury experiences.
Madrid is home to the first BLESS city property, and later this summer Ibiza will be home to the first BLESS resort property; with a rollout to other international cities and beachfront destinations in the coming years.
BLESS Hotel Madrid captures the essence of the Spanish capital, a city that has emerged as a truly authentic city-break destination, with diverse, easily explored neighbourhoods: a world-class cultural offering; unique local bars and gastronomic restaurants; as well as fascinating independent boutiques created by city entrepreneurs from fashion designers through to furniture makers.
It’s a city that has retained its identity and one that is celebrated in the public spaces of BLESS Hotel Madrid, including the ‘Versus Lively Bar’- and the alluring subterranean, clandestine bar, called Fetén where you can expect cool cocktail bars, a mischievous champagne room and even a retro-styled bowling alley.
In summer, look forward to relaxing on the rooftop pool terrace, chilling on the terrace of your garden room, or sipping a cocktail at the Skybar.
Over 30% of the guest accommodation is suites, and rooms are surprisingly large. I stayed in a Premium Deluxe, which with its own lounge area, large super king-size bed, and walk-in dressing room, felt more like a junior suite. Designer Lázaro Rosa-Violan has retained the soul of this mid-century building and used high quality, timeless materials, fixtures and fittings to create an extravagant, yet warmly welcoming environment.
