Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has opened its first hotel in Thailand, with the launch of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit. Inspired by Thailand’s rich botanical heritage, the new hotel brings 416 guestrooms and 58 suites to one of the Thai capital’s liveliest neighbourhoods, alongside an impressive collection of restaurants, bars, wellness facilities and event spaces.
The opening is another significant addition to Fairmont’s growing Asian portfolio, following the arrival of Fairmont Hanoi in February 2026.
Location is a major part of the hotel’s appeal. Set in the heart of Sukhumvit, guests are surrounded by some of the city’s best-known restaurants, bars, shopping and nightlife. It is an area that rarely stands still, making the hotel particularly well placed for travellers who want to experience Bangkok beyond the confines of their hotel.
Thai architectural and interior design practice PIA has led the design, drawing inspiration from the philosophy that every flower unfolds with purpose. Flowers and plant life appear in various forms throughout the guestrooms and public spaces. The most striking interpretation greets guests in the lobby: a chandelier inspired by the golden ratchaphruek blossom, Thailand’s national flower, consisting of 4,166 glass pieces and more than 35,000 crystal balls.

Accommodation ranges from Fairmont King rooms through to an extensive collection of Fairmont Gold rooms and suites. At the upper end is the 95-square-metre Fairmont Gold Deluxe Suite, with a separate living area, walk-in wardrobe and access to the Fairmont Gold Lounge. Two-bedroom suites are also available for families and groups.
Food and drink will become an increasingly important part of the hotel as 2026 progresses. Seven dining and entertainment venues are planned in total, with the collection opening in stages throughout the year.
Perhaps the most intriguing is Wiggle Room, an immersive supper club hidden beneath the hotel and due to open in September. The restaurant will combine dinner with cabaret-style entertainment, live music and performances, alongside theatrical cocktails and a dedicated stage.
Two further concepts are scheduled to arrive across levels 32 and 33 in December, including a rooftop venue. One will bring together Japanese and Italian influences, while the other will focus on contemporary Thai cuisine, accompanied by views across the Bangkok skyline.
Elsewhere, the 14th floor is home to the hotel’s outdoor swimming pool, providing another vantage point over the city, with sunset DJ sessions adding a more social feel as evening approaches.
Wellness has also been given plenty of attention. Fairmont Spa takes inspiration from jasmine, a flower closely associated with hospitality and purity in Thailand, while Fairmont Studio has separate spaces dedicated to yoga, cardio and strength training.
Families are well catered for, too. Connecting accommodation makes longer stays easier for those travelling with children, while a Kids Club provides dedicated activities for younger guests. Hands-on cooking experiences and a kids’ butler service add to the family offering. Pets haven’t been forgotten either, with four-legged guests weighing up to 30kg welcome at the hotel.
For events, Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit has more than 21,500 square feet of flexible space spread across three dedicated floors. Its centrepiece is the Signature Grand Ballroom, with an impressive 12-metre-high ceiling and its own arrival forecourt. A second ballroom and seven breakout rooms provide options for everything from smaller corporate gatherings to weddings and large-scale celebrations.
Sustainability has been incorporated into the building itself. Designed to LEED Gold standards, the hotel features biophilic design, water recycling, smart energy systems and measures to improve indoor air quality. EV charging is available, while the building’s façade has also been designed to reduce heat.
With several of its restaurants and entertainment venues still to come, the opening of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit is only the beginning for the new hotel. As these concepts open throughout 2026, they will add to the energy of the property and help it feel very much at home in Sukhumvit, a neighbourhood known for its dining, nightlife and constant buzz.
