Ibiza has never struggled with music, but it is rarely asked to sit still and be looked at. From the 30th of September to the 10th of October 2026, new curatorial platform International Design stages its first physical event, ‘Cosmic Sound’, at the recently opened Nômade Temple Ibiza, in collaboration with Soleille Gallery.
The exhibition gathers unique pieces by international artists and designers who treat the objects of music culture as collectible works, DJ turntable consoles, sculptural speakers, engineered sound systems and vinyl-first furnishings, alongside site-specific installations. The premise is that sound, usually an intangible, is best understood through the things that produce, carry and frame it.
The concept draws directly on the founders’ own backgrounds. International Design was founded in 2025 by Manfredi Moretti and Jules Guérard, with commercial activity beginning in the second quarter of 2026. Moretti, raised in Florence, founded Manfredi Style in 2015 and has played in 23 countries as a DJ. Guérard, born in Paris, worked inside luxury houses including Jean Paul Gaultier, Clarins and Armani Beauty, and spent more than a decade performing as a DJ under the name JESUS across London, Ibiza and Berlin.
The DJ console is the show’s recurring object, and each designer treats it differently. Jacob Egeberg builds his around a “sonic rock”, turning a raw geological form into a sculpted instrument. Jacopo Gonzato’s ‘Paloma’, made with Vismara, pairs high-fidelity acoustics with a warm, late-1970s silhouette that sits closer to mid-century furniture than studio kit. Arielle Assouline-Lichten’s ‘X Deck’ is a minimalist console in polished stainless steel and brass, designed to act as a kinetic mirror that scatters daylight across the space. YONT Studio takes the opposite approach, drawing on brutalism and Berlin’s underground scene for a monolithic, altar-like console.
Beyond the decks, Sara Ricciardi’s willow-tree sculpture of hanging golden threads, fitted with hydrophones and metal bells, is activated by wind or passersby. Olivia Steele contributes handwritten neon light installations, Emily Thurman shows sculptural bronze and metal bell chimes, and Francesco Maria Messina presents a stone piece exploring architecture and material experimentation. Many of the sculptural speakers, including the triangular designs by Andrea Mancuso and a wood brutalist throne designed by Studio S.B from Ukraine, will be activated according to a calendar of events.
That calendar includes an exclusive preview, opening and closing dinners, sunset sessions, artist conversations, wellness and NeuroArt experiences, live performances and DJ sets, all developed with Nômade’s artistic team.
‘Cosmic Sound’ is positioned as the first chapter in a wider programme, with events planned for Berlin, Paris and New York you can find more information at internationaldesign.com
