In the far south of Mahé and perched on the oceanfront, Mango House is the former family home of world-renowned Italian fashion and life photographer, Gian Paolo Barbieri. Now part of the LXR Hotel and Resort chain by Hilton, there are 41 rooms, suites and villas in total – all with unobstructed views of Anse Aux Poules Bleues – fondly referred to as the Aquarium of Wonders. For larger groups or families there is the Three Bedroom Bay House with Plunge Pool which joins a one-bedroom pool suite and two grand terrace rooms above. This also comes with a private butler, personal bar and private pool. If you’re feeling hungry, you can take part in a cooking class to experience the vibrant flavours of Creole cuisine, or alternatively there are great dining venues to choose from – all making the most of the stunning bay views.
