Puente Romano Marbella Unveils Reimagined La Plaza with Bar La Plaza, the New Cocktail Destination

Puente Romano Marbella has reopened its iconic La Plaza following an extensive transformation, alongside the debut of Bar La Plaza, marking a significant enhancement to the resort’s dining and entertainment offerings. The revitalised spaces opened on 15th May 2025 reinforcing La Plaza’s position as the social and architectural heart of this award-winning beachside property.

The Heart and Soul

La Plaza has long served as the physical and social centre of Puente Romano Marbella, positioned beside the first-century Roman bridge that inspired the resort’s name. The space anchors the property’s acclaimed dining scene, surrounded by signature restaurants including Nobu, Cipriani, Gaia, and Leña.

The recent redesign captures the charm of an Andalusian square whilst embracing the resort’s contemporary spirit. Traditional elements including Spanish tiles, wood flooring, and wrought iron details honour the property’s Andalusian heritage. At the plaza’s centre, an illuminated olive tree creates a striking focal point surrounded by terraced seating designed to encourage connection and socialising.

The transformation maintains La Plaza’s role as the gathering point where evenings traditionally begin with cocktail preparation and unfold to musical accompaniment. As afternoon transitions to evening, the space comes alive with international DJs, performers, and guests enjoying Mediterranean nights.

Bar La Plaza Debuts as Destination Cocktail Venue

The new Bar La Plaza represents a significant addition to the resort’s beverage offerings. Accessible via steps from La Plaza, the destination bar features mixologists crafting cocktails in a space that evokes the bars of European grand dame hotels.

The venue’s architectural centrepiece is an impressive long bar stretching through the entire space, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests to observe drinks being prepared with flair and creativity. Behind the main bar area, an intimate dining section furnished with decadent fabrics and warm tones offers light bites from Nobu Marbella, positioning the space as either an evening starter before exploring the resort’s restaurants or a sophisticated nightcap destination.

The reimagined La Plaza now offers a more elegant, spacious setting featuring unique signature cocktails as part of its ongoing programming. The enhanced atmosphere builds upon the venue’s established reputation as the nexus of the Puente Romano Marbella experience, providing guests with dynamic new experiences whilst maintaining the authentic character that has defined the space.

The reopening represents Puente Romano Marbella’s continued commitment to evolving its offerings whilst respecting its heritage, creating spaces that blend traditional Andalusian elements with contemporary luxury hospitality standards.
