Location
Although technically not on Phuket island, the Aleenta sits just a 30-minute drive north of Phuket International Airport, in Phang Nga province. Its position on pristine Natai Beach makes it feel much further away. The beach itself is protected, so there are no noisy motorised watersports or rows of loungers, just miles of powdery sand and uninterrupted Andaman views. The surrounding area remains largely undeveloped, which adds to the feeling of seclusion. Aleenta also offers easy access to the Similan Islands, Phang Nga Bay and inland jungle experiences, which can all be organised through the hotels along with Airport limousine pick up and drop off, making your whole experience at the Aleenta seamless from start to finish.

Check-in and Lobby
Arrival is quietly refined, there’s no traditional check-in desk formalities, instead guests are welcomed with a woven rattan stand, featuring a chilled butterfly pea flower drink and a cool towel infused with essential oils at the lobby’s elevated open-air lounge facing out to the sea. Luggage is swiftly delivered to your suite or villa, and staff are on hand to explain the layout and facilities of the resort and suite, while service style is relaxed and warm throughout the stay, with a keen focus on personalisation.

Rooms & Suites
Accommodation at Aleenta spans 65 individually designed guest quarters and 11 room categories ranging from suites & residences through to larger format pool and beachfront villas. Beachfront pool suites open directly onto the sand, while one-bedroom villas provide privacy with enclosed courtyards and outdoor rainfall showers. Families or groups can opt for the vast 3 and 4-bedroom pool villas with private pools and full kitchens. Each suite and villa category is slightly different in layout but unified in concept with modern lines, warm natural textures, and a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living, delivering on their concept of “all suites, all private”. Expect floating staircases, plunge pools, glass walls and oversized daybeds from which to while away the day.

Our Suite During Our Stay
During our stay, we checked into one of Aleenta’s eight Ocean View Loft Suites. These striking double-height spaces capture the drama of the Andaman coastline via their huge floor-to-ceiling glass windows and direct pool access. Set in a row of architecturally bold cube-like structures, these suites share a sleek lap pool that extends from each private sun deck, giving the impression of a seamless waterway between indoors and out.

The downstairs lounge is cool and contemporary, with woven armchairs, a terrazzo coffee table and a built-in daybed dressed in neutral stripes. Upstairs, the mezzanine bedroom features soft lighting, timber detailing and a king-sized bed dressed in 400-thread count Egyptian cotton, with both floors opening onto the loft’s glass walls.

In the bathroom, a deep, sculpted stone soaking tub big enough for two is the centre-piece, paired with a walk-in rainfall shower behind a frosted glass screen. A wide granite-topped vanity offers ample space, with elegant pendant lighting on either side. The wardrobe is well-appointed with natural cotton robes and matching pyjamas, along with flip-flops and a straw beach bag.

Turn Down
Returning to the suite after dinner, we found the lights dimmed and curtains drawn, slippers laid out beside the bed, along with a tray of freshly baked cookies, a bedtime note, and a single frangipani blossom awaiting on the duvet. A carved wooden frog, used traditionally in Thai culture to symbolise harmony and good luck accompanied a handwritten welcome message on a leaf, again highlighting Aleenta’s attention to detail and personal style of service that feels genuinely warm and considered.

Other Rooms
Always wanting to discover more, we had the opportunity to look at some other room types during our stay.
Signature Pool Villas
Signature Pool Villas are set closer to the beachfront and offer complete privacy, making them an ideal choice for couples. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors frame views of the turquoise-tiled private pool, the bedroom centres around a king-sized bed, while the villa extends to a shaded outdoor deck, complete with daybeds and a small dining table for two. Along with an indoor lounge and bathroom, with an open-air bathing area.

3 Bedroom Beachfront Pool Villa
Perfect for families or groups seeking space, the Three Bedroom Beachfront Pool Villas offer direct beach access and uninterrupted ocean views.

The Edge
We began the evening with a cocktail at the Aleentas The Edge Beachfront Bar, its open-air lounge located directly on the sand. The setting is casual but cinematic, with low-slung sofas and tiki torches which flicker to life as the sun dips behind the horizon.

Post cocktails, we head to its beachfront restaurant. The menu is extensive and well-balanced, rooted in fresh, local and often organic ingredients sourced from nearby farms. It includes a wide-ranging list of Thai favourites, plant-based options, alongside classic Western dishes. We stick with Thai flavours, opting for the snapper ceviche served with crisp tortilla triangles and a bright corn and avocado salsa, followed by the Aleenta poke bowl, a medley of salmon, unagi and tropical fruit finished with shredded nori and house-made soy dressing. For mains, the Natai-style massaman curry with wagyu beef was a standout, rich with cinnamon, shallots and peanuts, while the vibrant yellow curry with prawns, lychee and kaffir lime leaves offered a lighter but equally flavourful contrast.

The Edge Breakfast
Breakfast at Aleenta is a leisurely experience, served at The Edge, it’s à la carte rather than buffet-style, with each dish prepared to order. We began with a trio-tiered stand laden with freshly baked pastries, tropical fruits, yoghurt pots and miniature jars of homemade jams. The broader menu spans international classics and Thai favourites. We opted for an aromatic noodle soup, omelette, and a shakshuka still bubbling in its cast-iron pan.

Pool Breakfast
A really memorable moment is the floating breakfast, an experience that always feels in equal parts indulgent and playful and undeniably Instagrammable! Booked the night before to arrive at the time of your choosing, pick from the Edge breakfast menu, which is then served on a wide, woven tray and delivered directly to the pool outside our Ocean View Loft. We opted for the tropical fruits, Thai stir-fried noodles, eggs cooked to order, and French toast with maple syrup and berries, along with coffee, juice and a bread basket.

SEASONS
SEASONS is Aleenta’s concept-led fine dining restaurant, grounded in plant-based, organic and sustainable principles. Helmed by Head Chef Steen Nielsen, it offers multi-course tasting menus built around hyper-seasonal Thai produce. You can read more about Chef Steen’s culinary approach here and this incredible dining experience.

The Ayurah Spa
The Ayurah Wellness Centre offers a full menu of treatments rooted in Ayurvedic principles and traditional Thai therapies, going beyond the typical with its integrative approach. Consultations with wellness specialists are included, and programmes can be tailored to focus on stress relief, detox, or mindfulness. We opted for a one-hour couples massage, coming away feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated.

Wellness
Wellness is not confined to the spa at Aleenta. Daily complimentary group activities include yoga, pilates, meditation, Muay Thai and X-Fit bootcamp sessions. There’s also a well-equipped gym and complimentary use of paddleboards and kayaks. More immersive experiences, such as sound baths, breathwork sessions, and multi-day wellness retreats, can be arranged too.
Pool
The resort’s black-tiled infinity pool, edged with oversized daybeds, sits just a few steps from the beach, allowing you to transition from poolside lounging to barefoot walks along the sand.

Club Lounge
Guests staying in select suites and villas benefit from exclusive access to the Club Lounge. Open throughout the day, it offers complimentary refreshments, afternoon tea, light snacks and evening cocktails. The space also doubles as a quiet spot to work, read or unwind with views of the ocean and pool.
