One Wall Street, a Landmark Reborn for 21st-Century Living

Downtown Manhattan’s skyline carries many stories, but few buildings have been reimagined with such precision and intent as One Wall Street. Once the home of a financial institution, the Art Deco tower has undergone a considered transformation. It now stands as a residential address shaped for contemporary city life.

Originally designed in the 1930s, the building has been adapted with purpose. The residences range from lofts to four-bedroom homes. Each space is defined by natural light, clear lines, and uninterrupted views across the harbour. Interiors reflect a commitment to material quality and detail, the result of Macklowe Properties’ stewardship.

The Financial District, long viewed through a commercial lens, has evolved. One Wall Street has played a visible role in this shift. Today’s residents are not only seeking square footage but a structure that supports a layered, daily rhythm of work, hosting, rest, and care.

At the centre of this offering is The One Club, a private suite of resident amenities that spans more than 100,000 square feet. A 75-foot pool sits on the 38th floor, bordered by wraparound terraces with direct views of the Statue of Liberty. Additional spaces include a bar and restaurant, a private dining suite, a children’s playroom, and a vintage-style arcade.

Daily routines are further supported by co-working studios, podcast rooms, meeting spaces, and dedicated pet services at The One Pet Spa. These features are built into the residential offer, designed to serve without excess.

Residents also receive complimentary membership and priority access to Life Time, a 75,000-square-foot athletic country club located within the building. This four-level health space also welcomes non-residents and holds the largest footprint of any fitness provider in the Financial District. The club prioritises longevity-focused training programmes that extend well beyond the typical gym session.

Life Time offers one-to-one training with personalised 360-degree health reviews. These include metabolic testing, blood analysis, and full body scans using In-Body machines, allowing instructors to track long-term changes in physical health and mobility. Trainers collaborate closely with nutrition specialists to develop tailored plans matched to individual goals.

Food also plays a central role. The Life Café at One Wall Street develops meal programmes designed to support balanced, nutrient-rich diets. Meals can be planned to suit ageing bodies and changing activity levels, helping residents maintain strength and energy across time.

Recovery is treated as essential, not optional. The club offers advanced therapies including Normatec compression, dry hot and cold therapy in the CryoLounge, and hydromassage chairs. Stretch and massage therapists are available on site, trained in the latest techniques for rehabilitation and physical optimisation.

At street level, Printemps has opened its first U.S. location. The French retailer, with a 158-year history, brings curated shopping, personal styling, and residential dining access. Interiors by Laura Gonzalez carry through the building’s measured design language.

One Wall Street has not been restored as a monument. It has been shaped, with intention, for present-day use. Each part of the building has been constructed to align with how people actually live. The result is not a gesture to the past, but a grounded response to the needs of now.
