A UNESCO nature reserve, beside a sandy beach and preserved lagoon, is the setting for Heritage Awali. This creates a stunning backdrop for Le Château, an 18-hole championship golf course, the only 9-hole with Par-3s and footgolf course on the island and the new La Réserve Golf Links, exclusive to guests. The grounds are also home to the Seven Colours Spa, built in the style of an African village, a beach club and bar and the main hotel, a 19th-century plantation-style house. There are 163 bedrooms in total, including coastal villas with pools, jacuzzis and butlers on hand to elevate your stay. Heritage Awali’s all-inclusive package provides access to many onsite restaurants, offering Italian, Indian, BBQ, locavore concept and buffet fare.

Two Golf Courses

The 18-hole championship golf course Le Château Golf Course is the jewel in Heritage Awali’s crown and no doubt the reason it was voted World Top 100 luxury golf and beach resort by Today’s Golfer. Stay here and you’ll enjoy complimentary green fees, as well as access to the only 9-hole with Par-3s and footgolf course in Mauritius. Both were designed by internationally renowned golf course architect and ex-European Tour player, Peter Matkovich. And in autumn 2023, the resort added La Réserve Golf Links, available only to Heritage Resorts’ guests and Heritage Golf Club members. This is the first and only private links-style course to exist in the Indian Ocean and was co-designed by Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen. Additional amenities include a clubhouse with a shop, kids’ coaching programmes and PGA Pro Certified staff.

Seven Colours Spa

The spa facilities are housed in thatched huts, creating the feel of a little African village, nestled among the tropical flora and fauna. Its 3000 m2 accommodates a mix of indoor and outdoor treatment rooms beside the beach and in the gardens. Some have Vichy showers and steam rooms, others are designed for couples and others again for families and kids. There’s also a vitality and a chill-out pool, two hammams, one sauna and two relaxation areas, A salon, parlour and bridal room cater to guests’ hair and beauty needs.
