Once a classical mansion house, this 19th-century property is now a 10-bedroom five-star hotel at the heart of the city; its facade features authentic shutters and wrought iron balconies. Restored by designer Empi Spathi and influenced by the Bauhaus and Danish modernist approaches, the heritage spaces are adorned with fine walnut finishings, marble floors, Calligaris rugs, Varagis furniture, deep earthy tones and beds with Coco Mat mattresses. Outside, an oasis-like Mediterranean garden and a secret courtyard shrouded by lantern-hung trees, set the scene for atmospheric al fresco dining, evocative of a bygone era.
