The Swiss resort of Crans-Montana is in fact, twin resorts: surprisingly, named Crans and Montana! Situated high on a plateau in the French-speaking part of the Valais canton, there are simply breath-taking views across the mountains, including the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, and particularly the Wiesshorn. The resort is a wonderful mix of both a traditional Swiss village and a modern alpine town, offering visitors an extensive alpine shopping area in the region and plenty of rustic Swiss inn’s to snuggle up in.
Crans-Montana has something special for everyone – skiers of all levels and non-skiers alike. The lifts are efficient and modern allowing for short, (if any) queues. Along with three slopes for beginners, intermediates are spoilt for choice with numerous long and wide ski runs. Advanced skiers can tackle the World Cup pistes or choose from an extensive array of off-piste options. The ski season runs between early December and mid-April.
