How To Get There

Glasgow is well connected both within the UK and internationally. Glasgow International Airport lies just 20 minutes from the city centre, offering flights to major European destinations, the Middle East, and North America. For those travelling within the UK, Glasgow Queen Street and Glasgow Central stations provide fast rail services to cities throughout the UK. Road links are excellent and for scenic journeys, visitors can also arrive by ferry from the west coast islands.

Holiday Types

Glasgow is a city that blends culture, history, and modern energy. Art lovers will find world-class collections at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and The Burrell Collection, alongside striking architecture by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Music is at the heart of the city with live venues, festivals, and an official UNESCO City of Music designation. Luxury travellers can enjoy shopping on Buchanan Street and Princess Square, fine dining in acclaimed restaurants, or escaping to boutique boltholes and grand hotels. Families will appreciate green spaces such as Kelvingrove Park and Pollok Country Park, as well as the nearby Loch Lomond for day trips.

When to Visit

The best time to visit Glasgow is from late spring through early autumn, when the weather is milder and outdoor events are in full swing. Summer, from June to August, brings long days, festivals, and a lively atmosphere, although showers are always possible. Autumn, from September to November, offers crisp air and colourful foliage, making it ideal for exploring the city’s parks. Winter, from December to February, is colder and wetter but full of festive charm, with Christmas markets and Hogmanay celebrations. Spring, from March to May, sees longer days, blooming gardens, and comfortable temperatures for sightseeing.
