Glen Moray Unveils Limited-Edition Maple Cask Duo

In a continuation of its cask maturation legacy, Glen Moray has launched two limited-edition expressions finished in Canadian maple syrup casks, marking a flavour-forward first for the Elgin-based distillery. Released to coincide with the 2025 Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, these experimental bottlings reflect Glen Moray’s enduring spirit of discovery, one that has defined the brand since 1897.

Crafted in Speyside, the new expressions include a peated version (59.1% ABV) and a non-peated counterpart (59% ABV), both matured initially in American oak before being transferred to ex-maple syrup barrels. The result is a compelling balance of Glen Moray’s signature smooth, fruity character and the indulgent sweetness of maple syrup.

With only 234 bottles of the peated and 222 of the unpeated spirit available, these cask strength releases are non-chill filtered and sold exclusively at the Glen Moray Distillery while stocks last. The unpeated version offers dessert-like layers of toffee, brown sugar, and vanilla fudge, while the peated dram adds smoky complexity with notes of treacle, charred oak and a maple-glazed savoury richness.

Founded over 125 years ago on the banks of the River Lossie, Glen Moray has established itself as a master of cask exploration. These new bottlings are priced at £90 and limited to just 200 bottles each.
