Best Luxury Hotels in Gozo
Until recently Gozo was a day trip destination for visitors staying in Malta, but this compact island has seen an increase in demand for tourists wanting to spend longer on the island and we can see why! It’s packed with history and the food and drink scene focuses strongly on the island’s fresh local produce, mix this with a laid back atmosphere, which you won’t find on Malta, and you have the perfect place to spend a few days relaxing. At the moment Gozo’s accommodation focuses on smaller family run B&B’s and hotels but if you want a luxury experience there are two five star properties on Gozo which we highly recommend.

Gozo, Sannat
Hotel Ta’ Cenc & Spa

Located on the outskirts of a small village in the south of Gozo close to the Ta’ Cenc cliffs the views out over the cliffs across to the island of Comino and Malta are stunning. Consisting of 83 stone-built bungalows and guest-rooms that merge seamlessly with the ‘au-naturel’ Gozitan environment. It is the only hotel in the region offering a complete hideaway where you can escape and unwind. The hotel offers three dining options, which range from Al Fresco dining at Il Carrubo, where you sample Italian inspired cuisine as well as Gozitan specialities. Head to Terrazo for Mediterranean flavours while enjoying views from the highest point on the island or dine by the waters edge at Kantra Beach Club before enjoying a day relaxing at Kantra Beach. Hotel Ta’ Cenc also has a large spa where you can swim in their indoor/outdoor lagoon pool, have a beauty treatment in their salon or unwind in their heated sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.

Gozo, San Lawrenz
Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz

Just twelve miles off the coast of Malta, lays the smaller island of Gozo. On the western side of the isle, squeezed between the coastal villages of San Lawrenz and Ta’Dbeigi, the luxurious Kempinski Hotel makes the ideal base from which to explore this fascinating island and its rural and lace making history. A large, 140 room, 5-star establishment with semi-tropical gardens; the hotel’s indoor and outdoor pools, three top class restaurants, sauna, and range of Ayurveda wellness treatments, provides everything you require for that much needed relaxing break.
