Best Luxury Hotels in Madrid
Elegant, vibrant and bustling, the capital city of Spain is a discoverable gem peppered with world-class museums and galleries alongside both modern and traditional bars and restaurants. Famed for its late-night culture (thanks to the likes of Dali and Hemingway), effervescent energy and fast pace, the best way to experience the city is to flow through it. Like a pebble being carried downstream, allow yourself to be moved through the baroque paths, street markets and open green spaces without resistance.
The best way to do this is via ‘La Marcha’ a local custom that involves moving from one bar to another, getting a drink (often Vermouth) and a tapa before moving to the next, sampling different styles as the night goes by. Those in the know start at the north end of the Plaza before winding through the many narrow bar-filled streets – the perfect way to immerse yourself in the culture and while away an evening.

Four Seasons Hotel Madrid
(5 stars)This hotel had an unenviable opening date in September 2020 during one of the toughest periods ever for hospitality. Yet this hasn’t prevented the stunning new hotel in Plaza de Canalejas from becoming a huge success. A total of seven historic buildings were brought together over an eight-year refurbishment period to form the Four Seasons in Madrid. The results are impressive – a four-level spa (arguably the best in the city) with a dreamy indoor pool, a massive art collection, a lobby eatery, a gastro bar and a stunning rooftop restaurant. Many of the buildings’ original features have been maintained adding to the now single building’s authenticity.
