The American classic hotel is located at 250 Franklin Street in the former Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and still retains some of the original architectural and interior features. All guest rooms and suites have been completely redesigned with New England-inspired décor and marble-clad bathrooms. Guests can relax in the luxurious new lobby, decorated in jewel tones, with a cozy fireplace or enjoy craft cocktails and elevated pub grub at The Fed – the hotel’s new destination luxe cocktail club. GRANA is the new Italian restaurant, which sits in the former great hall of the bank and is architecturally breathtaking. The Langham Club – a private space in which guests can meet, eat and socialise, throughout the day – this signature feature of The Langham Hotels & Resorts brand will be available to those who have purchased Club access.

Mandarin Oriental Boston
(5 stars)Centrally located beside the Commonwealth Avenue Mall, the Mandarin Oriental sports a modern style with vintage early 20th century touches. Head to the fourth floor to visit the 6,000-square-foot spa – quite possibly the best in the city. Aromatherapy Associates and Linda Meredith products are used for the therapies and there’s a large suite for couples’ treatments. Bar Boulud features a wall of windows and European meets New England cuisine designed by the restaurant’s namesake chef, Daniel Boulud. Following the hotel’s family-friendly credentials, children’s menus are also provided. 148 rooms and public areas are all fully accessible and the hotel and spa have been awarded Forbes Travel Guide’s Five-Stars.

The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel
(5 stars)The Liberty’s previous life – as the Charles Street jail – is evidenced throughout the building, in the trendiest urban-chic style. Dating back to 1851, the building was renovated to form a 298 bedroom hotel in 2007. Everything revolves around the atrium of the lobby, the central hub of the old slammer, in which live music, fashions shows and art displays are frequent occurrences. Guests can choose to stay in a ‘jail room’ or in the new wing, and enjoy drinks and food at the aptly named Alibi and Clink.

Four Seasons Orlando
(5 stars)A brand renowned for its culinary offer, this Four Seasons holds up its reputation. Ravello serves fine Mediterranean cuisine alongside fine vintages – as well as hosting a bi-weekly Disney character breakfast. Stay here and you can enjoy the early entry theme park privilege otherwise reserved for Disney’s own on-site hotels. You’ll be transferred via private coach service from this gated community to the four parks. The architecture is reminiscent of Spain, while interior decor echoes contemporary Italian style. Two infinity pools enable families and adults to enjoy some sun-time separately – the child-friendly one has waterslides and a lazy river.

(5 stars)In possession of a salubrious address, this hotel is found right across the road from Rodeo Drive. At the centre of the property, is the hotel’s Mediterranean-styled heated pool and dining terrace, providing an opportunity to quaff cocktails and soak up some rays from your own comfy cabana. Michelin-starred cuisine is on-site, in the form of CUT, a seafood and steakhouse restaurant (also by acclaimed restauranteur Wolfgang Puck). Or watch the world go by from the front of the building, with a chic and healthy lunch at THE Blvd. Pets are made very welcome if you want to bring them along, with bowls and baskets provided.

The William Vale
(5 stars)Found in the hipster district of Williamsburg, this hotel has the largest pool of any in New York. 208 rooms have been designed by Studio Munge in a futuristic style with geometrics, soft greys, light woods, picture windows, huge balconies and glowing space-aged lighting. After dark, take a seat on one of the city’s hottest rooftop bars – Westlight – with its gorgeous panoramic views, great cocktails and delicious small plates. Or feast on Michelin starred cuisine from Andrew Carmellini in the main dining room. And when you crave a decadent sweet treat, Wylie Susfresene’s Hi Du’s Donut creations are lip-smackingly good. There’s a cutting edge gym overlooking the pool area, a shopping concourse just beneath the hotel and a delightful green area just in front of the entrance too.

Wythe Hotel
(4 stars)Facing the East River and downtown Manhattan, this spacious hotel commands some iconic views. Another ex-factory, the eight-story building dates back to 1901, with warehouse-style exposed brick, cast-iron columns and wooden beams. Bedrooms and public spaces serve as galleries for the exciting work of New York artists, with an in-house curator personally selecting all the pieces. The 70 rooms have high ceilings, oversized windows and there are four loft suites. You’ll find local artisan products in the bathroom and minibar – and check the top of your wardrobe for a bespoke denim robe. Dine at Reynard and you’ll find this theme is continued, with menus containing ethically sourced local ingredients and meat from the on-site butchery. Then make your way to the sixth floor for drinks overlooking the bright lights of the Big Apple.

Its spa provides treatments such as facials, body scrubs, and cupping therapy, as well as a nail salon, a relaxation lounge, a steam room and a sauna. A pool area with sofas, palm trees and family amenities can be enjoyed on the terrace and on the first floor, are the unique Topgolf Swing Suites, for a round of indoor simulated golf with food by Bayou & Bottle. Choose a room on a higher floor (of the 404 including 63 suites available) for stunning views of the city skyline.
