AMAALA is taking shape along Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast as a major new destination for health and well-being. Developed by Red Sea Global and powered entirely by renewable energy, it is set to welcome first guests in 2025. The project brings together leading wellness resorts, regenerative design and marine conservation across the Triple Bay coastline.
At the heart of the plan sits a landscaped wellness route. This trail links each resort across Triple Bay, guiding guests along quiet pathways and past striking natural scenery. It is designed to prompt movement, reflection and discovery while making it easy to explore the full site.
A line-up focused on well-being:
- Clinique La Prairie AMAALA will offer longevity-led programmes grounded in more than 90 years of medical expertise. Expect diagnostics, cognitive health, detox and treatments within a private retreat by John Heah.
- Jayasom Wellness Resort AMAALA blends Western medicine with Eastern healing traditions. Facilities include hydrotherapy suites, holistic studios and wellness trails, with multi-generational programmes for adults and children.
- Six Senses AMAALA will open across dramatic coastal terrain with a 3,000 square metre spa, cryotherapy chambers and a longevity clinic, aligned with the brand’s pillars of movement, sleep and sustainability.
- Equinox Resort AMAALA takes a high-performance approach with a magnesium rooftop pool, a recovery-focused spa pavilion and direct access to the wellness route.
- Four Seasons AMAALA will feature an Organic Spa Garden set within cascading landscapes, offering halotherapy, cryotherapy and other advanced therapies.
Each resort brings a distinct perspective, from diagnostics to detox, recovery and ritual, allowing guests to shape a personal path to well-being within one connected area.
A rare microclimate and varied terrain
AMAALA sits between mountains, wadis and the sea. Its microclimate comes from the mix of fresh sea breezes and dry mountain air, which supports outdoor activity throughout the year. The landscape covers 300 hectares and lends itself to walking or horse riding along canyon trails, through ancient wadis and around mangrove-fringed bays. Cliffs, desert plateaus and quiet coves frame waters that host spotted dolphins, reef sharks and protected green turtle nesting grounds.
Architecture that lifts the mood
Design across AMAALA aims to support calm, light and a strong link to nature.
- The Ritz-Carlton AMAALA will sit among preserved sand dunes with shaded promenades, native planting and open views to the Red Sea and surrounding mountains.
- Rosewood AMAALA, by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, will focus on recreation and tranquillity. The Asaya Spa sits within the natural terrain as a sanctuary of private treatment pavilions around a protected oasis.
- Nammos Resort AMAALA, by Foster + Partners, blends traditional Hijazi forms with Cycladic interiors to create airy, light-filled spaces drawn through by the sea breeze.
Across the destination, shaded courtyards, climate-sensitive design and dark-sky principles aim to protect the setting and enhance guest comfort.
Planned for families
Jayasom Wellness Resort AMAALA will run distinct programming for adults and children, supported by a children’s club, an equine therapy centre and space for creative workshops. Six Senses AMAALA and Four Seasons AMAALA will add marine discovery, snorkelling, family-focused spa rituals and guided hikes through nearby wadis.
Marine discovery and stewardship
Corallium, a reef-inspired marine life institute by Foster + Partners, anchors the coastal story. Part research hub and part visitor centre, it will allow guests to snorkel among rare fish, tour marine science labs and learn about ocean life across ten discovery zones. One of the world’s largest man-made reefs provides a striking reveal on arrival.
Alongside this, the AMAALA Yacht Club will offer 116 berths, tailored member services and a role in staging global events including the 2027 Ocean Race Grand Finale.
