Design Hotels has announced the opening of La Granja Ibiza, a 10 room members only retreat in collaboration with Friends of a Farmer an international association devoted to the cultivation of art, crops and inner gardens.
Designer Armin Fischer of Dremeta has converted a 200 year old farmhouse to a 9 room bolthold, with seperate 2 bedroom guesthouse. Marked by classical Iberian architecture and traces of Moorish influences, the public spaces, nine guestrooms and freestanding guesthouse feature arched walls and dark-wood beamed ceilings and doors, accented by hammered iron doorknobs and fixtures. Communal spaces, including the kitchen and pool, bring likeminded guests together, while cozy nooks are found inside and out for moments of simple solitude.
Situated inside the base of an old carob tree the hotels bar features a curated collection of cocktails based around mescal. In addition to mezcal, the Bar serves organic wines and a limited selection of other high-quality spirits. But more important are the connections forged here, the experiences shared and the cultivation of good times for all.
La Granja also includes a 20 tiered acre of forest and fertile gardens overseen by a master farmer of the area.
