Destination by Hyatt has made its Greek island debut with the opening of Parian Chronicle Hotel Paros, a new adults-oriented boutique retreat on the island of Paros.
Located in Kampos, a peaceful village just outside Parikia, the 50-room hotel takes its name from the Parian Chronicle, an ancient marble inscription documenting key moments in Greek history and mythology. Throughout the hotel, the design draws on one of Paros’ defining characteristics, its world-renowned marble, alongside materials and craftsmanship inspired by the island. Designed by Makridis Associates, the architecture stays true to the clean lines and whitewashed simplicity associated with the Cyclades.
The hotel offers 50 rooms and suites, with privacy a key consideration throughout. Thirty-nine feature their own pool, while the remaining rooms include outdoor jacuzzis and spacious terraces overlooking either the gardens or the Aegean. Welcoming guests aged 13 and over, the property is intended for couples and those looking for a quieter base from which to explore the island.
Dining is centred around NAAO, where the kitchen takes a seasonal approach using ingredients sourced from Paros and the wider Cyclades. Breakfast showcases local cheeses, honey and freshly baked bread, before the menu shifts towards seafood, grilled meats and regional specialities later in the day. Traditional preservation techniques, including curing and sun-drying, are also showcased throughout the menu, alongside wines produced on Paros and neighbouring islands. Producer-led tastings and communal dining experiences provide guests the opportunity to learn more about the region’s food culture.
The Nipson Spa takes inspiration from ancient Greek wellness traditions, offering a range of treatments alongside saunas, relaxation areas, a double treatment room and a fitness centre. Outside, a swimming pool provides space to unwind between days spent exploring the island.
While the hotel offers everything expected of a contemporary luxury retreat, there is a clear focus on encouraging guests to experience Paros itself. From traditional villages and family-run wineries to local workshops and quieter stretches of coastline, the island provides a range of activities, history and culture to discover beyond the island’s better-known beaches.
As Destination by Hyatt’s first opening on a Greek island, Parian Chronicle feels less like a standalone resort and more like a gateway to one of the Cyclades’ most characterful destinations.
