Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts has officially opened the doors to Portrush Adelphi Hotel, located in the heart of Portrush on Northern Ireland’s spectacular Causeway Coast. The newly refurbished property is the latest addition to the brand’s growing collection of hotels in world-class golf destinations.
The 34-room hotel becomes the sixth in the Marine & Lawn collection, a portfolio of distinctive properties positioned beside some of the world’s most prestigious golf courses. Owned by Adventurous Journeys (“AJ”) Capital Partners, the group already operates hotels in Scotland and at Slieve Donard in County Down.
Portrush Adelphi Hotel combines heritage architecture with contemporary design. Interiors reference the wild Northern Irish coastline with rich textures, warm colour palettes and locally inspired finishes. Rooms and public areas have been reimagined to reflect the town’s deep connection to both its seafaring and golfing past, with a new food and beverage offering also planned.
“We’re pleased to welcome Portrush Adelphi Hotel to the Marine & Lawn collection,” said Phillip Allen, President, Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts. “The hotel is a fantastic addition to the portfolio, offering travellers premier access to world-class golf courses and Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most stunning geological features on earth. The property is a true community gem and will continue to offer both locals and visitors an authentic experience that pays homage to the rich history and rugged beauty of County Antrim and the Causeway Coast. We’re honoured to continue to grow our presence in Northern Ireland and thrilled that we’ll have a fully renovated Portrush Adelphi Hotel to showcase when the world of golf once again turns its eyes on Portrush for the 2025 Open Championship.”
The hotel is located just an hour’s drive from Belfast and within walking distance of Royal Portrush Golf Club – host of the 1951, 2019 and upcoming 2025 Open Championships. Widely regarded as one of the world’s top-ranked golf courses, the links are known for their dramatic Atlantic views and challenging layout. Other nearby attractions include the UNESCO-listed Giant’s Causeway and the historic Bushmills Distillery.
Portrush Adelphi Hotel joins a collection that includes Rusacks St Andrews, Marine North Berwick, Marine Troon, and Dornoch Station Hotel in Scotland, alongside Slieve Donard in Northern Ireland.
