Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin Brings a New Era of Alpine Luxury to the French Alps

Opening this December in the prestigious Jardin Alpin enclave of Courchevel 1850, Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin heralds a new chapter for the celebrated ski destination. Representing Rosewood’s debut winter resort and its second property in mainland France, the retreat embodies the brand’s signature philosophy of A Sense of Place, weaving Courchevel’s 1960s golden age into a contemporary expression of alpine sophistication.

Designed by French interior designer Tristan Auer, the property’s 51 rooms and suites, including three signature houses, redefine the notion of mountain luxury. Natural materials such as timber, stone, and leather are offset by playful copper accents and mirrored surfaces, creating interiors that feel at once intimate and cinematic. Auer describes his vision as “a private mansion chalet rather than a traditional hotel,” where sculptural details and panoramic terraces draw guests into the heart of the mountains.

The hotel also showcases an art installation by Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, titled Two harmonious yet different crystals sharing views and reflection. Suspended among mirrored walls and ceilings, the crystalline structures appear to float endlessly, transforming the chalet into a contemporary art space where light and geometry converge.

Each of the three signature houses, including the Jardin Alpin Apartment, a grand four-bedroom residence with a private elevator, cinema room, and art collection, offers a private sanctuary for families and groups. Expansive terraces overlook the slopes of Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest ski area, with direct ski-in, ski-out access.

At the heart of the property lies a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant that evolves with the rhythm of the day. By afternoon, the terrace becomes a convivial meeting point serving regional favourites such as Savoyard fondue and grilled alpine classics. As night falls, the space transforms into an elegant dining destination celebrating French and Italian alpine cuisine, paired with fine wines and crafted cocktails in a refined après-ski atmosphere.

Beyond the slopes, Rosewood’s Ski Concierge team offers personalised service with bespoke alpine experiences. From arranging First and Last Track sessions that allow guests to carve fresh lines across untouched snow, to curating private dinners at secluded chalets illuminated by starlight and fireworks, every experience is crafted with precision and flair.

Wellness is core to the property through the debut of Asaya, Rosewood’s globally renowned integrative wellness concept. The spa offers holistic treatments in collaboration with Maison EviDenS de Beauté and Sodashi, including the signature Ski Legs Revival Treatment and the high-technology Oxylight 3D Radiance Ceremony. Guests can also experience restorative reiki, sound baths, or Mountain Pilates sessions that harmonise body and breath amid the serenity of the Alps.

Rooms start from €2,300 per night. Discover more at rosewoodhotels.com/courchevel.
