Riviera Nayarit has welcomed a significant new arrival with the debut of Siari, a Ritz Carlton Reserve. Positioned within the private 920-acre enclave of Nauka on Mexico’s Emerald Coast, the new retreat sits between jungle-covered foothills and the Pacific Ocean, offering one of the most secluded and culturally resonant luxury experiences in the region.
Taking its name from the Uto Aztecan word for green, Siari sets out to honour the land and the people of Nayarit. The intention from the outset was to create a place that feels organically part of its environment. As a result, the resort’s design, rituals and service approach form a quiet dialogue with the surrounding terrain, inviting guests to slow down and fully absorb the landscape.
Designed by Bernardi plus Peschard Arquitectura, the architecture leans into natural materials and flowing open air spaces. The resort features 91 sanctuaries that frame views of the Pacific, including spacious suites, freestanding villas and the signature five bedroom Siari Presidential Estate. Local stone, hand woven elements and timber detailing nod to the region’s indigenous craftsmanship. Every room category prioritises a strong sense of connection to the outdoors with private terraces, generous interiors and calming palettes. Personalised butler service is provided throughout.
Siari also introduces 34 private residences for extended escapes. Set along more than four miles of shoreline with access to what is considered the largest swimmable beach in the region, these four and five bedroom homes offer the Reserve’s trademark privacy combined with the comforts of a coastal residence. Infinity pools, shaded terraces and expansive living spaces establish a setting well-suited to family groups and friends seeking meaningful time together.
Culinary exploration is overseen by Chef David Castro Hussong across five dining concepts shaped by the rhythms of land and sea. Zula serves elegant interpretations of Nayarit cuisine with a coastal sensibility. Estero presents a sociable setting for dishes influenced by regional cooking and international flavours. Naao blends Asian inspiration with local produce. Masa Madre centres around wood fired techniques while Maribel’s offers a light filled patisserie experience in collaboration with renowned pastry chef Maribel Aldaco. Across all venues, menus place emphasis on provenance, highlighting fishermen, growers and culinary artisans from across the region.
Wellness is experienced though heritage driven rituals at Há Yeka, the resort’s 28,000 square foot wellbeing centre, whose name translates to water and well-being in the Wixárika language. Guests enter through a ceremonial nierika followed by a cleansing rosewater ritual that marks the transition into a space dedicated to restoration. The centre draws on Huichol healing knowledge with volcanic stone therapies, indigenous botanicals, hydrotherapy circuits and outdoor pavilions that heighten the connection to the elements. Programmes are tailored to support physical balance and spiritual clarity, reflecting the belief that nature plays an active role in healing.
The surrounding landscape offers a broad mix of experiences. Guided hikes lead through jungle trails alive with birdlife. Private yacht charters set off from Nauka’s deep-water marina to reach hidden coves and calm waters ideal for swimming. Families will appreciate The Wild Kinship Center where younger travellers engage with cultural workshops and nature-based activities. Golfers can enjoy exclusive access to a Tom Fazio-designed championship course carved into the coastline and reserved only for guests and residents of Siari.
Access has been designed with discretion in mind. Private jet arrivals are accommodated via the resort’s dedicated FBO services and two helipads. Yacht arrivals benefit from deep slip marina access. For commercial flights, Siari lies around 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport and 35 minutes from Tepic International Airport. United Airlines is set to introduce a new Saturday nonstop service from Houston to Tepic from 20 December 2025, creating an additional gateway for international visitors.
Siari joins the expanding Ritz Carlton Reserve portfolio which includes Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico, Zadún in San José del Cabo, Mandapa in Bali, Phulay Bay in Thailand (read review here), Higashiyama in Japan, Nujuma in Saudi Arabia, Rissai Valley in China and Nekajui in Costa Rica. Each Reserve is designed to offer a deeply local and highly personalised interpretation of luxury, shaped by the ethos of the destination.
