Taghazout Bay has welcomed a new addition to its growing hospitality scene with the opening of Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort, Marriott Hotels’ first resort in Morocco.
Located just north of Agadir, the beachfront resort sits within Taghazout Bay, a stretch of Morocco’s Atlantic coast that has become known for its surf beaches, golf courses and year-round outdoor lifestyle. As interest in the area continues to grow, Marriott’s arrival marks another step in Taghazout Bay’s emergence as one of the country’s leading leisure destinations.

The resort features 221 guestrooms and 29 suites, each with a private balcony or terrace overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, landscaped gardens or swimming pools. Interiors draw on the colours and textures of Morocco’s Atlantic coastline, blending natural stone, woven textiles and locally crafted furnishings to create a contemporary take on Moroccan design.
Guests arrive into Marriott Hotels’ signature Greatroom, a flexible social space designed for everything from morning coffee and informal meetings to evening drinks after a day on the coast, offering an alternative to the traditional hotel lobby.
The resort’s restaurants each take inspiration from a different coastline. Rivage serves Mediterranean dishes overlooking the Atlantic, while Salt & Lime brings the flavours of Mexico’s Pacific coast and Southern California to the poolside. In the evening, Brasa focuses on fire-led cooking and Mediterranean-inspired sharing dishes, with a terrace overlooking the ocean. Guests can also head to Chiringuito by Salt & Lime, a relaxed beachside venue serving drinks and light bites just steps from the sand.

The leisure facilities are equally extensive. Four outdoor swimming pools, padel courts, a whirlpool and a fully equipped fitness centre encourage guests to embrace the active lifestyle for which Taghazout has become known. A spa is also due to open later this summer, complementing the resort’s wider focus on wellbeing.
Away from the resort, Taghazout Bay offers surf schools, watersports and one of Morocco’s leading coastal golf courses. Agadir’s marina, traditional souks and seafront promenade are also within easy reach, making the resort a convenient base for exploring more of the Atlantic coastline.
The resort joins a growing collection of hotels within Taghazout Bay, an eco-conscious coastal development that combines hotels, residential communities, golf, wellness facilities and outdoor activities while placing a strong emphasis on protecting the surrounding landscape.
As Marriott Hotels’ first resort in Morocco, the opening reflects the growing profile of Taghazout Bay, which has emerged as one of the country’s most exciting coastal destinations. For visitors looking beyond Marrakech and Morocco’s imperial cities, it offers a different perspective on the country, where Atlantic beaches, outdoor living and contemporary resorts are increasingly shaping the luxury travel landscape.
