The new pool, set within the mature hotel gardens and surrounded by vintage-style fringed parasols and colourful daybeds, epitomises how the heritage of this hotel has inspired its present reincarnation. The transformation has been masterminded by award-winning Barcelona studio El Equipo Creativo, drawing inspiration from Marbella’s rich cultural heritage and integrating geometric patterns, terracotta tiles and organic curves into the interior design of the public spaces.

The hotel’s art collection creates a particularly strong relationship between architecture and artistic expression. Curated by Red House Art gallery directors Julio Cruz Casas and Adolfo Sánchez Flores, the collection features works by contemporary artists including Santiago Picatoste, Monique Bastiaans, Norberto Gil, Marta de Pablos, Manuel León, Fernando Clemente, Mª Jiménez Sequeiros and La Colorería SVQ. Their pieces flow throughout the rooms, lounges, halls, restaurants and pool surroundings, extending the hotel’s artistic legacy into every corner of the property.

Contemporary Mediterranean Design

The rooms feature contemporary Mediterranean design, with our suite overlooking the pool and gardens, including features from the original hotel, including the wooden vaulted ceiling. The furniture, though contemporary, has a timeless 20th-century vibe. The welcome amenity was the classic distinctive Kimpton cake – a sponge with bright yellow glaze that echoes the yellow striped beach towels and parasols, a burst of Marbella sunshine.
