Roostiq Marbella Restaurant Review

Roostiq Marbella, found on Marbella’s Golden Mile, offers a distinctive dining experience, combining design, wine and gastronomy. This creatively designed steakhouse focuses on high quality, organic produce from the Roostiq estate, as well as fine meats, fish and seafood. The restaurant’s sophisticated use of charcoal grilling and wood-fired cooking has positioned it as a benchmark in fine dining in Marbella’s culinary scene.

It has been a pleasure to be invited to this emblematic restaurant and to discover the inside track on one of Marbella’s most elegant places to eat. From the exterior, Roostiq Marbella has the allure of a luxury private villa, set back from the Golden Mile, and set within private gardens with dining terraces shaded by olive trees. Inside the striking interiors, by Astet Studio, set the scene for sophisticated dining. Warm, welcoming colours and natural materials embrace you.

The Bubble Bar is the centrepiece, a homage to fine wines, where champagne takes centre stage. This striking space with its innovative textured ‘bubble’ decor, creates an inviting ambience. This is the kind of versatile space that allows for intimate, romantic meals as well as celebratory dinners. As well as the main dining area, with banquette seating, and feature glass wine cellars, there’s a walled Mediterranean garden with tables, and upstairs, a private dining area, Roostiq Privé.

Yet it’s the menu that is the main attraction, offering a thoughtful selection of high-quality meats, including perfectly charred ribeye and sirloin, as well as a peppered beef tenderloin enhanced by morel mushrooms. Each dish is a testament to the skilful cooking over fire which imparts a nuanced smokiness that complements the natural flavours of the ingredients.

We start our meal with the smoked pork crackling, a compelling starter, rich in texture and flavour. Understandably it has emerged as one of the restaurant’s most acclaimed dishes.

Roostiq is also known for its tempting pizzas, which are made with cold fermented dough for 72 hours. Highlighting the chef’s culinary creativity is the Mont Blanc pizza, featuring laminated bellota Roostiq guanciale, truffle, and a blend of aged For di Latte and Comté cheeses aged for 16 months.

This dish encapsulates the restaurant’s commitment to quality and innovation. And there’s something so wonderfully decadent about enjoying these hearty dishes with a bottle of refined champagne – after all that’s the style here. To indulge in a relaxed, yet elegant environment.

In addition, Roostiq pays homage to the sea with dishes like turbot, clams, and prawns, all expertly cooked over open flames. For a lighter option, the beef carpaccio, adorned with finely grated Parmesan and peppery arugula, offers a refreshing contrast to the richer grilled items – produce is sourced from the restaurant’s farm in Avila.

The restaurant’s ethos extends beyond its menu, embracing an ‘Organic Mood’ philosophy that prioritises sustainability. Seasonal vegetables and ethically sourced meats, including acorn-fed Iberian cured varieties and free-range chicken from the restaurant’s own farm, underscore a commitment to quality and local produce.  Our dish of wood-fired artichokes was a delight – each perfectly formed flower was prepared to perfection and served with a fine extra virgin olive oil.

The wine cellar is a standout feature, boasting over 500 labels that invite exploration. With a particular focus on prestigious wines and champagnes – Roostiq is a notable ambassador for Krug – guests can find excellent pairings to enhance their dining experience.

Before the meal we had the chance to explore the property. Upstairs is Roostiq Privé offering an exclusive setting for those seeking a more intimate experience. Accommodating up to 15 guests, this private dining area, complete with its own wine cellar, is ideal for celebrations or gatherings that require that extra special touch.

We’re never one to deny ourselves indulgence, so we finished with the iconic cheesecake served with whipped cream and amaretto liqueur and shared a creamy mascarpone tiramisu – standout.

Open daily for lunch and dinner, Roostiq Marbella combines culinary excellence with a refined atmosphere, making it a noteworthy destination for discerning diners. With the convenience of complimentary valet parking, the experience is designed to be seamless from arrival to departure. This is a restaurant that has stood the test of time and flourished in one of Spain’s most dynamic dining destinations.
