The Westminster London, Curio Collection by Hilton

Located near the picturesque banks of the Thames, near London’s most iconic landmarks, The Westminster London, Curio Collection by Hilton, is inspired by Ian Fleming’s James Bond and features 464 beautifully designed guest rooms. Guests can enjoy the on-site rooftop gym with Peloton equipment and incredible views or indulge at the Westminster Bar & Grill, a modern steakhouse with a carefully curated wine list along with its own unique bowling alley. Read on to learn more about this contemporary hotel in London.

Multimillion Pound Transformation and James Bond-Inspired Interiors

Formerly the DoubleTree Westminster the property rebranded in May 2021 to The Westminster London, Curio Collection by Hilton, but the name change wasn’t the only upgrade, a multi-million-pound renovation has repositioned the property with slick rooms and contemporary interiors. The hotel caters perfectly well to both business and leisure guests, with excellent conference and private dining spaces, a fun bowling alley, great dining facilities, and a fitness centre on the 13th floor with 360 views of the Thames. Interiors take inspiration from the local area along with nods towards its proximity to M15 & M16 – look out for the bowler hats in the lobby, low-lit corridors and slick black marble bathrooms that James Bond himself would be impressed by.

Curio Collection by Hilton – A Fusion of Luxury, Authenticity, and Hilton Honors Perks

Curio Collection by Hilton is a unique lineup of upscale and luxury boutique hotels, each with a unique and distinctive character and design (read our review of the Hagia Sofia Mansions Istanbul, Curio Collection By Hilton), which are integrated into the Hilton Honors program for loyalty benefits. Launched by Hilton in 2014, the collection includes over 177 properties (at the time of writing) across more than 30 countries with 7 properties in London which aim to offer guests authentic, local experiences without sacrificing the reliability and perks of Hilton’s global network.

Riverside Views and Historic Sites at Your Doorstep

Located just a very short walk to the River Thames, (some of The Westminster’s rooms boast breathtaking views of the iconic river). It’s conveniently situated less than half a mile from Tate Britain, with Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey all within a one-mile radius. Pimlico Underground Station is a ten-minute walk away as is Westminster Underground Station and its proximity to Tufton Street means that, based on your political views, you might find yourself either showing support for our current leaders or expressing your dissent from just across the street.

Bedrooms & Suites

The hotel comprises 464 rooms and suites across eight different categories, each boasting distinct bedroom layouts and dressing areas. Rooms are distinguished by their dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows, sophisticated textured furnishings, and ambient lighting. Key features include 49-inch smart TVs, Nespresso machines, and expansive high-pressure rainfall showers along with bespoke bathroom products that leave you smelling divine.

King Suite One Bedroom

During our stay we were hosted in a King One Bedroom Suite which combines space and luxury across 42 sqm, featuring a large lounge and a pull-out sofa bed, making it ideal for city stays with family or friends. It includes a separate bathroom with options for a walk-in shower and a large two-person bathtub. Guests can also enjoy complimentary WIFI, bottled mineral water, a top-of-the-range Nespresso machine, USB charging points, two 4K Ultra HD 49-inch TVs, bespoke amenities, and bathrobes.

From Ground Floor Café Delights to First Floor Bar and Grill Elegance

The Westminster is home to two food and drink establishments. On the ground floor is the Westminster Cafe open daily from 7am, the cafe serves hot drinks, juices, sandwiches and snacks throughout the day whilst also being the perfect place to drop in for breakfast on the go. Looking to stock up your minibar with all of your favourites? The café also offers an array of soft drinks and canned cocktails.

On the first floor is The Westminster Bar and Grill. In the evening this provides a fantastic menu offering with the highlight being the steak and grill options (and not to mention cocktails, this was one of the best Margaritas I have had in London).

The stylish restaurant has a glamorous vibe, Ibiza-style club sounds beat away in the background, while cosy leather booths provide intimacy for dining groups and couples. And by morning it’s where breakfast is served.

Gym

This well-appointed gym offers some of the most spectacular views of London to work up a sweat to. Located on the roof of the hotel, this two-floor gym has the latest equipment and views to both the north and south of the city.

Bowling Alley

I have stayed in many hotels around the world, but I have never been to one that has its own bowling alley. Located off the Westminster Bar and Grill, staff are happy to set up a game for you as well as serve food and drinks, such a fun way to round off an evening in the hotel!

Final Thoughts

We already love the Curio brand so it was a joy to experience our first London Cuiro and we didn’t leave disappointed. Centrally located with a polished experience this is a great base for both a leisure and business trip to London. This property is included in our guide to the best hotels in Westminster
