TRS Ibiza Hotel – Palladium Hotels Brings Its Premium All-inclusive, Adults-only, 5-star Brand To Europe

Ibiza, the white island of the Balearics, has always been an innovative destination, creating trends, and introducing new ideas. So, I guess it seems a natural destination for TRS. We headed to the island for the TRS Ibiza Hotel’s inauguration, and this is what we discovered.

Location

San Antonio is reinventing itself. Ibiza’s clubbers and party animals are getting more mature, and more affluent. Tastes are changing. You see this in San Antonio, the holiday favourite on Ibiza’s northwest coast. The centre of the town now has new boutique luxe hotels, and the once 3-star resorts along the coast are shifting up a gear to 5-star.

TRS is very much part of this move towards sophistication. This classic resort has been completely remodelled and reimagined to create a contemporary resort with beautiful gardens, impressive pools, tantalising gastronomy, and refined attention to detail. The property boasts probably the best location, moments from the shore, alongside the crystal-clear waters of Cala Gració and Cala Gracioneta, and is orientated perfectly to enjoy exceptional sunset.

Just as we have embraced the flexibility and fun of cruising the seven seas in style, so too have we embraced all-inclusive. Forget any misconceptions, as at TRS we’re talking upscale. Signature Level Swim Up Suites

The original vintage Cala Gració Hotel is now a signature restaurant and the entrance to the new swim-up suites with private pools, and above the Roof Terrace Suites with Jacuzzi – the perfect, private sundowner experience.

The other rooms and suites, many with full sea and lateral sea views feature generous balconies, sumptuous king beds, and all the luxe amenities you would expect from a 5-star, including a Nespresso machine, smart TV and comfortable bathrobe and slippers.

Zentropia Spa

The main building, home to completely new rooms and suites including amazing Sunset Suites and even a Presidential Suite, is also where you’ll find the Zentropia Spa. This is a beautifully designed space, with commissioned art, designer furniture and a water circuit that embraces everything from steam and sauna to ice and pools.

Outside, in the sub-tropical gardens one can truly relax on daybeds, ensconced in cabanas away from the lively main pool.

Take a dip

The main pool is the centre of the exterior area, surrounded by sunbeds and daybeds. Fringed, vintage style parasols, evocative of the golden age of travel, surround the pool, brought to live with DJs sets and regular entertainment.

For more laidback moments in the sun, I particularly liked the smaller pools set amongst pine trees, secluded in the hotel gardens, where one can chill, with your feet in one of the pools, reading a book. There was plenty of space for everyone.

Gravity

For the ultimate sundowner, then it has to be Gravity, the rooftop bar and infinity pool. Complementary to Signature Level guests, this huge terrace offers unrivalled sunset views, accompanied by live music. It’s definitely a signature experience and for me one of the many examples of how TRS Ibiza is a new generation of all-inclusive.

The Signature Level

TRS Ibiza Hotel offers guests the opportunity to have an adults-only holiday with everything taken care of, including dining and drinks. For something even more refined, The Signature Level offers more exclusive accommodation, access to premium drinks, dedicated Butler Service including personalised turndown service with amenity, and also preferential access to a la carte dining.

Gastronomy

TRS is an innovative brand, and one sees that with the dining experience. Breakfast is served in Capricho restaurant which in former age might have been called a buffet restaurant.

Capricho

Well, buffets do not exist at TRS. Yes, dishes in the main Capricho restaurant are predominantly self-service but almost all options are individually plated for a more sophisticated experience.

It all starts with breakfast, where guests find personal olive wood boards with a selection of cold cuts, cheeses and more. Individually plated hot dishes too, as well as the classic cooked breakfast. There are a la carte dishes available from the servers like Eggs Benedict made freshly in the kitchen.

Lunch is a similar affair – freshly prepared dishes and boards. I also really enjoyed the large paellas and fresh rice dishes. There is live show cooking throughout the day.

Helios

This is the resort’s signature Mediterranean restaurant. The interiors are a delight, including commissioned ceramic art on the walls, and an abundance of natural textures. The shaded terrace offers views of the pines and the bay beyond. Service is attentive and friendly, and the dishes are tasty and thoughtfully prepared.

El Gaucho

This upscale grill restaurant, housed in the original vintage hotel on the property, is a contemporary, Balearic interpretation of the classic grill restaurant.

Final Thought

For me, it’s always exciting to see the evolution of hospitality, and Spain is Europe’s most experienced and certainly most innovative destination for holidays. Palladium Hotel Group is a favourite of mine, as they really understand the importance of creating an environment for a fun and memorable holiday. Even during I visited during the soft opening, when a few details were still being ironed out, we all had a wonderful time. The team are so dedicated and motivated. It’s the kind of place you quickly learn the names of the team, as they really make your day, from the receptionists, front-of-house team, bar people and the servers in the restaurant – they all made me feel so welcome.
