Benriach Distillery, renowned for its rich, inventive, and multi-layered Speyside whiskies, announces its oldest and most exclusive expression to date: the Benriach 1966 Cask Aged 50 Years.
Crafted from a single exceptional cask by Master Blender Rachel Barrie, this extraordinary whisky is limited to just 37 precious bottles. The Benriach 1966 Cask Aged 50 Years epitomises the distillery’s signature fruit-laden style, showcasing unrivalled complexity and luxurious refinement.
A Journey Half a Century in the Making
The journey of this whisky began on September 21, 1966, when Bourbon cask 2383 was first filled with unpeated Benriach spirit. Handpicked for its exquisite character, this cask was destined to become the oldest remaining vintage and rarest example of Benriach. After decades of maturation in Benriach’s Speyside warehouses, it has emerged as the first Benriach to be bottled at fifty years old.
A Presentation of Elegance and Craftsmanship
The Benriach 1966 Cask Aged 50 Years is housed in a bespoke crystal decanter, crafted in Scotland by Glasstorm. Each decanter is presented in a custom-made box by master craftsman John Galvin. The design of the presentation box is inspired by the colourful array of eclectic casks that fill Benriach’s warehouses, where this expression has been nurtured for the last half-century.
