5 Star Hotels Hotel Reviews Miami

A stay at Nobu Hotel Miami Beach

Nobu Hotels is a global phenomenon – an inimitable blend ‘of modern cool luxury and minimal Japanese tradition into the concept of a lifestyle hotel’ with unique Nobu style culinary experiences inspired by world-renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa.

Nobu Hotel Miami Beach takes this award-winning approach to gastronomy and hospitality and creates its own interpretation on the white sand shores of Miami, promising a contemporary Japanese beach house aesthetic with signature Nobu service and cuisine.

I started my recent stateside Florida escapade at Nobu Hotel Miami Beach, writes Andrew Forbes (The Luxury Editor). Upon arrival I breezed through customs and immigration and headed out to hail a cab. Greeted by the warm air, and the sight of swaying palms, I knew I’d arrived in Florida. Yet Miami has its own special atmosphere, a global meeting place for North and South America, with a colourful Caribbean vibe. My taxi driver needed no address when I said I was heading to the Nobu Hotel. Nobu Hotel Miami Beach is located within the same property as Eden Roc Hotel Miami Beach, which is an iconic property.

Nobu Hotel Miami Beach

Nobu Hotel Miami Beach brings together the 1950s vintage Miami chic of the Eden Roc Miami Beach with the contemporary innovation of Nobu. That’s the magic of each Nobu hotel property – each offers the style and sophistication of this global brand yet with the authentic personality of each destination.

Check-in at the dedicated Nobu Hotel front desk means a margarita and a warm greeting. Here a welcome comes with a generous dose of Miami vibrant hospitality. Then I headed across the emblematic lobby, with its legendary art deco lobby bar, to the elevators and up to my Nobu suite.

Rooms & Suites

Rooms and suites have the signature Nobu style, with natural woods, pared back minimalism, and a focus on quality. The bathroom was beautifully appointed with lots of thoughtful touches and great amenities. That’s why we love Nobu right?

I arrived late, so I took advantage of the in-room dining. You can enjoy all the flavours and inventiveness of Nobu style cuisine ‘till late at night. The iconic black cod was an obvious choice – it never fails to impress.

Miami sunrises are the best – throw open the balcony door in the morning and you’re embraced by the warmth of the sunshine state. The views of the white sand beach and Atlantic are knock-out. It’s little wonder that room service breakfasts are so popular.

Resort Facilities

The resort makes for a seductive short break. There’s complimentary yoga classes at the weekend, a choice of pools (with weekend DJs), a nurturing Esencia Spa, and a private beach with the friendliest team.

After breakfast I headed to the shores of the Atlantic – this is one of the best times of year to enjoy the Caribbean climate of Miami and the Nobu Hotel Miami Beach team know how to showcase their amazing picture perfect setting.

With a sunbed, parasol, cocktail, and sea view the day felt pretty much set. The Pool & Beach bar offer sunbed service, so just kick back and let the warmth of Miami embrace you.

The BeachWalk

Yet, despite the desire to lie in the sun, I’m naturally inquisitive and I love to explore. I can’t stay still for too long. There’s an 8 mile ‘beachwalk’ that connects South beach, Mid Beach & North beach. It’s is a cool place to let your curiosity lead you on a mini adventure. Just take one of the Nobu Hotel Miami Beach ‘cruiser’ bicycles and go explore, and people watch. Miami Beach is a place full of colour, energy, and friendly people. If you know a little Spanish, then here in Miami you’ll get to enjoy speaking plenty as the city is pretty much bi-lingual, with Spanish speakers from not only neighbouring Cuba, but the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and central and south America. It makes for a vibrant, warm, and cosmopolitan travel experience that is unique in the States

Miami Beach really does have a lot of offer. Even without heading across the bridges to downtown there’s art galleries, concert halls and all heritage of Miami Beach to discover.

Lunch is a treat at Ocean Social – it brings together a laid back beach vibe with a menu of wood-fired bites, colourful salads, and hand-crafted cocktails.

Tanoshi Hour & Nobu Restaurant

An afternoon at the spa, or by the pool is a vacation style way to work up another appetite. At Nobu Hotel Miami Beach there’s a fun and sociable way to start the evening,  the Nobu Tanoshi Hour. Take a seat on the stylish Nobu Terrace and try Nobu signature cocktails and enjoy generous bento boxes with exquisite highlights of the Nobu menu.

If you’re staying here, you’ll just let that aperitif hour run into a late dinner at the Nobu restaurant. This cool space brings together the signature architectural elements of Nobu with unique gold cherry blossom décor, washi paper art and traditional lanterns. This is the place in Miami for chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s renowned cuisine that infuses traditional Japanese dishes with Latin American influences.

So that’s how you spend a short break at a Japanese inspired beach House Retreat. Nobu Hotel Miami Beach offers the Nobu Irasshaimase welcome we all love, yet with captivating, sun-soaked Miami style.

We’ll see you at the bar.
