Situated in the Maghreb region of North Africa, Morocco’s coastlines border the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The country has been shaped by Arab, Berber, and French influences and is home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the bustling Marrakech Medina. The country’s diverse offerings include the spectacular landscapes of the Atlas Mountains and the dunes of the Sahara Desert which takes up nearly two thirds of Morocco’s land mass. Appreciate the rich culture and history of the land or support local artisans showcasing their craftsmanship in local souks. Head to the Rif Mountains to visit the Blue city of Chefchaouen; take to the slopes of Oukaïmeden, the highest ski resort in Africa; or marvel at the world’s oldest university, University of al-Qarawiyyin, in Fez. Take advantage of the local offerings through bespoke shopping tours for fine leather, hand-crafted ceramics, handwoven Berber rugs, and spices. From busy cities filled with serene riads, centred around plunge pools, with private courtyards and rooftops to tranquil desert campsites, Morocco is suited to all types of travellers.
