Eat Do Sleep Costa Brava

Costa Brava is a region of Catalonia where coastline, countryside and culture come together with remarkable depth. This is where Ferran Adrià’s elBulli Foundation keeps alive the spirit of the restaurant that redefined contemporary cuisine, and where the Dalí Triangle connects Figueres, Portlligat and Púbol through surrealist landmarks. Inland villages reveal Romanesque churches and stone-paved […]

Málaga, the capital of its province, and the de facto capital of the Costa del Sol, Andalucia, is one of Spain’s fastest-growing cities. It is so much more than a gateway to the beaches, resorts and natural parks of Southern Spain’s most popular coast. It is a vibrant city rich in culture and history, with […]

How To Get There

Spain’s accessibility ensures that the trip is tailored to the traveller. You may choose to fly into major cities like Barcelona or take a high-speed train to Madrid, or opt for a scenic journey with many long-distance buses into smaller towns for a truly unique and personalised adventure. If you prefer to travel via jet or helicopter, major city airports like Madrid and Palma have dedicated services for private aviation, accompanied by business lounges and FBOs for a comfortable and kitted journey. The most popular international airports include the Adolfo Suárez in Madrid, Barcelona- El Prat Josep Tarradellas in Barcelona and the Palma De Mallorca in Mallorca, all of which provide an enriching holiday destination, as well as being a port to transfer your travels by a variety of private shuttles.

When To Visit

From skiing breaks to soaking up the sun, Spain will accommodate for your perfect getaway completely variable to your requirements. Whilst most notoriously a summer holiday destination, those who wish to escape the tourism rush and enjoy a slower-paced time away may choose to travel through the months of spring or early autumn, with slightly cooler weather without compromising the Spanish sun. Spring travel is best for exploring the country’s culture, partaking in festivals such as the Seville April fair or traversing through cities to get a taste of authentic Spanish cuisine whilst not being hounded by the heat. Summer months are ideal for coastal getaways, specifically in the south, providing lively beach scenes and colourful nightlife as well as events such as live Flamenco and the famous La Tomatina festival. If you are looking at Spain for a festive escape, aim for the end of autumn and certainly the winter months and challenge the slopes of Baqueira Beret or Sierra Nevada just off the Mediterranean coast, without missing the glimmering Christmas markets!

Holiday Types

From active travellers to those intrigued by the country’s culture, Spain has what you’re looking for. For those who crave activity and adventure, the Mediterranean is the perfect scene for all variations of water sports from scuba diving to windsurfing, with the warm waters helping to comfort you if you fall! For shoppers, the ‘Spanish Broadway’ of the Gran Vía in Madrid serves as a key hub for recreational life, home to many designer brands and popular fashion retailers. If you consider gastronomy a passion, Barcelona holds the title of the highest concentration of Michelin-starred restaurants globally, a must for food enthusiasts. And of course, Spain is well known for its extensive list of festivals all of which encourage and invite participation, including La Mercè in September and the Cádiz Carnival in February, all characterised by lively street parties, music and cultural displays. With Spain being a popular destination for tourists due to the extent of its enrichment, the destination is enjoyed best by busy-bodied travellers, or sun seekers whose ideal getaway includes a soft-sanded beach and warm waters.
