Guests can arrive in the Rosewood’s chauffeur-driven open-top Rolls Royce — it has a personal touch, as indeed does the entire experience of staying here. The hotel looks more like a lavish New England home than a hotel and the service adds to this vibe. Both adults-only groups and families are catered for, with pools for each. There are outdoor hot tubs, a kids club, beach butlers, ball courts, shuffleboard games, two boutiques (including Gwyneth Paltrow’s goop) and a Sense Spa using local ingredients. Dining options include the popular Malibu Farm.

Texas, Irving
Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas
Somewhat of an exclusive country club, this particular Four Seasons Resort is found a little away from the hub of activity. En route to Fort Worth, in a leafy suburb of Las Colinas, it places guests close to the lakeside and the locale’s fancy shops and eateries. But there are amenities galore onsite. Three pools (one with a pseudo beach, one that spans 25,000-square-feet), 12 tennis courts, a triple deck Sports Club, a kids club, an 18-hole golf course, two restaurants and a bar. 431 rooms are decorated in muted, earthy colours, with a classic, upscale style.
Colorado, Snowmass Village
Viceroy Snowmass
Occupying a prime ski-in/ski-out location, the Viceroy offers upscale accommodations in Snowmass Village, just a little outside of Aspen’s centre. Ideal for families and those wanting to self-cater, rooms come with kitchenettes and there’s a daily programme of activities for younger guests. But there are also two eateries on-site – the fine dining Eight K Restaurant and a poolside Asian inspired cafe, Nest. After-dinner drinks can be taken alfresco, or indoors beside a roaring fire. The huge spa spans a total of 7,000-square-feet, incorporating plunge pools, a Vichy wet room, jacuzzis and a blissful relaxation suite. Outside, there‘s a heated saline pool with a fire pit and cabanas.

Maryland, Baltimore, Harbor East
Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore
Contemporary, airy and minimal, this glass-walled hotel houses 256 bedrooms, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking over the harbour. Ergonomic loungers, a hydropool and chakra-balancing healing sessions await at the five-star spa. The rooftop pool and grill restaurant provide a sunny spot to kick back with a watermelon mojito. And there are two further places to dine; an American eatery and one inspired by Mexico and South American food.
Massachusetts, Boston
Four Seasons Boston
The red brick facade of the Four Seasons is the kind of building you probably imagine when thinking of Boston. The building was once the city’s Playboy Club and is found among Victorian brownstone buildings. Once inside it’s unashamedly fancy, with chandeliers, marble, plush bespoke textiles and abundant space and light. Guests can dine in the Aujourd Hui Lounge, the Sottovento Coffe Bar, outdoors at The Sanctuary or poolside. Rooms range from deluxe kings to speciality suites offering separate living and sleeping areas (perfect for extended stays). Accessible rooms across each of the categories are also available to book.
