Reservations Now Open for Stays from 1st June 2025
Amsterdam’s former Palace of Justice, a historic landmark built in 1665, is set to reopen its doors as Rosewood Amsterdam, marking the luxury hotel brand’s debut in the Netherlands. Located prominently within Amsterdam’s UNESCO-listed Canal District, this opening will be the final hotel development permitted within a monumental building in the city, highlighting its significance and rarity.
Following an extensive ten-year restoration, Rosewood Amsterdam now occupies the iconic former courthouse. The project has carefully preserved original architectural elements—including historic courtrooms and former cellblocks—which have been thoughtfully transformed into distinctive spaces for guests to experience. This careful approach reflects Rosewood’s commitment to sustainable luxury and cultural authenticity.

With interiors designed by acclaimed Studio Piet Boon, Rosewood Amsterdam combines classic Dutch heritage with contemporary style. The hotel offers a refined yet welcoming atmosphere, capturing the essence of the Dutch concept of gezelligheid, meaning cosy and inviting. Spaces are modern and sophisticated while paying respect to the building’s historical character.
The hotel comprises 134 guest rooms and suites, including five standout signature suites. Many rooms offer views over Amsterdam’s picturesque canals, peaceful inner courtyards, or the rooftops of surrounding townhouses. Each room is well-appointed with high-quality furnishings, luxurious amenities, and modern technology to ensure comfort and convenience.
Guests at Rosewood Amsterdam will have access to three distinctive restaurants and bars, featuring both local and international cuisine, alongside an innovative in-house distillery. For relaxation and wellbeing, the property includes Rosewood’s signature Asaya® Spa, an indoor swimming pool, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

Additionally, the hotel offers a private Salon Boat, styled exclusively by Studio Piet Boon, enabling guests to explore Amsterdam’s famed canals directly from the hotel. Event spaces, including a grand ballroom covering 223 square metres, provide elegant venues for both social and corporate gatherings.
Situated centrally, Rosewood Amsterdam is ideally positioned for exploring the city’s major attractions, museums, boutiques, and dining venues. Cultural programming within the hotel further immerses guests in Amsterdam’s history, arts, and modern culture, enhancing the experience beyond traditional hospitality.
