Take Me To The Moon With Leica’s Sport Optics

Leica’s Sport Optics has released a new pair of binoculars just in time for Christmas that pay tribute to the pair of binoculars that travelled with the crew of the original moon landing in 1969. In the 50 years since the Apollo 11 carried out this historical space mission, the intrigue surrounding space travel and the moon has not diminished. Now readers can get their hands on a little piece of the history, even if that is only to get a slightly closer look at the earth’s closest neighbour.

The new Leica Trinovid binoculars pay tribute to the original Leitz Trinovid which were a style icon appreciated worldwide by scientists, nature observers, ornithologists and travellers. That is why NASA opted to send a Trinovid with the Apollo 11 moon mission.

The relaunched Trinovid is elegantly shaped taking inspiration from the iconic glass of the 1960s featuring a smart black leather casing, making them a timeless accessory and rugged companion all in one.

This pair of binoculars offers precise, powerful premium optics with superior field of view and impressive orientation. Using the latest optical glass and coatings, the user is guaranteed brilliant, natural colours with high contrast and bright images from edge-to-edge. Protected by ultra-light aluminium housing and state-of-the-art materials, the new Trinovid binocular is robust, splash-proof and weatherproof.

The Trinovid prides itself in being reliable in challenging conditions, making them suitable for a variety of uses from wildlife observation to hiking, as well as a stylish accessory for a variety of sporting events including horse and motor racing.
