The latest Michelin Star guide has just been released so for all our readers who have a love of fine food we’ve updated our guide to include the new winners for 2019/2010 in London. The number of Michelin restaurants in London has jumped from 48 to 67 with 53 restaurants awarded one Michelin Star, 10 with two Michelin Stars and three with a trio of Michelin Stars. NEW ENTRY – Sketch Lecture Room & Library, Mayfair.
Located in a quirky 18th century townhouse Sketch is known for its elegant French food designed for a sophisticated palate. This year it has achieved the top foodie prize being awarded its third Michelin star, which is testament to the high quality and innovative partnership between restauranteur Mourad Mazouz and super chef Pierre Gagnaire. Breakfast, comfort food, Afternoon Tea and classy cocktails can all be enjoyed here and with its arty vibe it is certainly a place for the fun and fashionable crew to visit.
NEW ENTRY – La Dame de Pic, The City.
French chef, Anne-Sophie Pic’s is the only female chef to put her name to three Michelin Stars and at her first UK restaurant La Dame de Pic, The City it is clear to see why. The high-end French restaurant in the Four Seasons’ hotel was awarded a well-deserved second star this year, inventive dishes that boast unexpected flavour combinations with a European influence are served for lunch and dinner.
NEW ENTRY – The Dysart Petersham, Richmond.
High-end and family-run restaurant in Richmond The Dysart Petersham is the perfect place to enjoy a special meal in a cosy setting – think wood burners and rustic interiors whilst dishes are well crafted, creative gastro style. The partnership between Barny Taylor who manages the restaurant and Kenneth Culhane. former Roux Scholar, running the kitchen is clearly a winning combination as this year the restaurant was awarded its first Michelin Star.
NEW ENTRY – Da Terra, Hackney.
Da Tarra, is a fine –dining restaurant in the heart of Bethnal Green at Town Hall Hotel and was awarded its first Michelin Sat this year – just 8 months after opening. The dynamic chef-duo, Paulo Airaudo and Rafael Cagali, have crafted a menu comprising of modern dishes which are inspired by the flavours of Latin America with an Italian influence in a refined east London setting.
NEW ENTRY – Endo at the Rotunda, White City.
An experience for every sense can be enjoyed at the intimate 16-seat Omakase style dining restaurant. The special interaction between the sushi masters and guests, quality ingredients and delicate balance of flavours showcase Japanese inspired dining at its best. And with Endo Kazutoshi’s at the helm it is unsurprising that this restaurant makes the list this year with its first Michelin Star. Add to that the unique location of the former BBC Television centre tower makes for a truly memorable experience.
NEW ENTRY – Mãos, Shoreditch.
Fine-dining supper club style restaurant is the brainchild of Portuguese chef Nuno Mendes and fashion brand founder James Brown, who present guests with an intimate dining experience at Mãos in edgy Shoreditch. The 16-seat high-end ‘no-choice’ menu restaurant seems to be going from strength to strength with the restaurant receiving its first Michelin star this year. Guests can expect bold and inventive dishes which have a notable Portuguese and Japanese influence.
