Argentario Golf Resort & Spa – Spotlight On

Since its launch in 2008, the five-star Argentario Golf Resort & Spa has quickly established a first-rate reputation for its unique blend of sporting excellence and picturesque setting. Located near the charming coastal town of Porto Ercole, amongst the exquisite beauty of Southern Tuscany’s famous rolling hills, the resort is a haven of tranquillity within easy reach of major cities including Rome, Pisa and Florence. Read on to discover why this is the perfect destination for your next luxury getaway.

The Resort

From the moment you walk through the Argentario’s majestic entrance, you are safe in the knowledge that you are embarking on a journey of luxury. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the resort’s 73 sophisticated and comfortable rooms, which all feature private decked terraces, allowing you to take in the views of the breath-taking golf course below. The resort has an array of accommodation options to suit all requirements and tastes, but of all the gorgeous suites our personal favourite is without doubt the Spa Loft Suite, which is fitted with a hydro-massage tub, Turkish bath and techno-gym KINESIS equipment. It is no surprise that the suite has won the SIA Guest Award for ‘Best 4 and 5-star hotel bedroom’.

If you feel like indulging yourself a little more, look no further than the Argentario’s luxury villas. Featuring elegant décor, beautiful terraces and indoor and outdoor hot tubs (depending on the property), these villas offer the pinnacle of exclusivity and are located only a few minutes away from the spectacular beaches of Monte Argentario. Many guests enjoy their stay in these bespoke properties so much that they end up purchasing one of the Argentario Golf Villas.

Golf

Of course, as its name suggests, the resort’s pièce de résistance is the stunning 18-hole golf course. Designed by leading architect David Mezzacane, this eco-friendly course meanders through cork-oak woods and olive groves, offering players mesmerising views of the glistening Tyrrhenian Sea. Professional golfers were consulted throughout the construction process, resulting in a varied yet technically challenging course. The course became Italy’s first recipient of the prestigious PGA licence earlier in 2019, firmly establishing it as the finest course in the country. State of the art simulation facilities and a driving range allow players of all abilities to analyse areas for improvement, whilst professional coaches are always on hand to help you take your game to the next level.

Wellness

After enjoying a round on Argentario’s sun-kissed greens and fairways, there is no better way to unwind than by visiting the resort’s remarkable Espace Wellness Centre. Prepare to be treated like royalty by the attentive spa team, whose aim is to leave you feeling as relaxed and balanced as possible, both mentally and physically. Take advantage of the impressive range of treatments on offer, including soothing deep-tissue massages using natural Tuscan products, before being transported on a journey of rejuvenation through saunas, Turkish baths, Thalassotherapy, Kneipp circuit, hot tubs and massaging waterfalls. For an even more exclusive experience, book into the Espace Suite which, with a private aromatic Turkish bath, as well as sumptuous hammam and floating waterbeds, is ideal for couples.

Activity

For those of you wanting to keep active on your holiday, in addition to golf the resort boasts outstanding indoor and outdoor sporting facilities, which can be enjoyed by all the family. Guests can make use of the pristine paddle tennis and tennis courts, as well as a five-a-side football pitch and an extensive network of running trails, which showcase the stunning coastline in all its glory. Equipped with an impressive selection of cardio machines and weights, and offering a selection of fitness classes, the Espace Gym is the perfect place to get in your daily workout before refreshing in the pool complex – the water is especially designed to help your skin become more toned and elastic, which is yet another example of just how much detail has been put into optimising every guest’s stay at this wonderful resort.

Dining

After a busy day, the evening provides the perfect opportunity to unwind at the resort’s superb Dama Dama restaurant. Born in the region, head chef Emiliano Lombardelli prides himself on presenting diners with an exciting, contemporary menu featuring the flavours and colours of Tuscany. His sumptuous tasting menu transports guests on a journey through the best of the region’s meat and seafood dishes, with ingredients meticulously sourced from local farms, as well as some that have been cultivated in the resort’s very own vegetable garden and orchard. If you are looking for casual dining during your stay then the Club House offers a range of lighter options and post dinner head to the bar, where a range of refreshing drinks awaits you as you admire Tuscany’s unique beauty, including the Orbetello Lagoon and the Gulf of Talamone.

Final Thoughts

With its world-class sports and spa facilities, as well as its lavish suites and villas, the Argentario Golf Resort & Spa really is a must-visit destination for all lovers of luxury. Couple this with its staggering setting and a stay here is akin to spending a few days in heaven.
