Panerai Launches Luminor Marina Guillaume Nery Limited Edition

Founded in a small Florentine workshop in the 19th century, Panerai is a luxury timepiece brand and school of watch-making. The brand supplies the Italian Navy specialist diving corps with precision instruments. Now manufactured in Neuchâtel, its watches feature Italian design blended with Swiss horological expertise.

A limited-edition performance timepiece

This dive and ocean-inspired Luminor Marina 44mm has been crafted with advanced materials in Panerai’s Laboratorio di Idee, via a 3D sand-blasted titanium printing process. The case back features an engraved silhouette of brand Ambassador and professional free diver, Guillaume Néry, while his signature is engraved into the recycled plastic presentation box. And as you may expect from a sea-themed timepiece, it’s water-resistant up to 30 bar (which equated to a depth of around 300 meters).

Innovative aesthetic elements

A convex glass dial design carries a dégradé effect, replicating the tones produced when sunlight filters through the depths of the sea. The black strap is made from recycled PET material with white stitching and a trapezoidal pin buckle, while double barrels allow for a three-day power reserve and speedy adjustment (it can move forward or backwards in hourly increments and automatically connects to the date indicator). Arabic numerals complete its sandwich structure and, in terms of movement, it’s mechanical, self-winding and shockproof.

70th anniversary

The launch has been timed to coincide with the 70th birthday of Lumiro (a patented tritium-based substance with luminescent properties), is available in 70 pieces, and has a 70-year guarantee – the warranty logo is engraved onto each of the watches.

Sophisticated, detailed, and evocative of Panerai’s passion for both horology and the sea, this unique timepiece is the perfect gift for the diver in your life or as a reflection of your own love of the ocean.
